Customize Option for Operating System in all Notebooks. Instead of going with the standard option, if dell can provide a option to choose the operating systems in all models. it will help the customer's to go with the model and specification which they like most. 

Customise Option in Operating System 

  • It does reduces the product cost [if the customer want's to go with non-windows platform, ie: In US, money difference in dollars might not make much difference, but in India it makes a huge difference, Minumum the product cost will get reduced with 3000 Rupees]
  • Helps Customer to select the model what they need, instead of filtering out the standard windows models and then find out the product which matches their requirement and liked most[ Majorly it helps the technical customers, but there is no harm added to the non-technical customers because of this customization, they can still go with windows operating system]
 
Options can be of the following (most used )
1. Ubuntu
2. Open Suse
3. Red Hat / Fedora

    Adding one more point to my above post. In the past few days, there are so many changes in indian government sectors ie, most of them are going with ubuntu operating system, And multiple training sections has already taken place. So there is a high possibility that soon ubuntu will become most comfortable operating system for non-technical users too.
