OLED is a technology that puts both IPS and PLS to shame. Faster response time, better and more vivid colours, wider viewing angles, better brightness and less mass are some of the reasons to go for this technology.
The Alienware logo functions as an ON button and will light up the menu buttons for a brief time if pressed when the screen is already on. The logo only lights up for a brief time when you press it, but can be configured to be on at all times, should you want that.
ALIENWARE OptX AX24
- Screen size 24¨
- Panel type: OLED
- Resolution: 1920x1200 (16:10)
- Response time: less than 1ms (yes, OLED can be that good!)
- Refresh rate: 120Hz
- 2x USB 3.0 ports on the right side
Who would want such a screen? FPS gamers and other gamers with high demands will most likely be the first to embrace this product, but professional graphical artists and enthusiasts will also be interested if this product becomes a reality - if you are both, then this screen is definitely for you! Knowing DELL's high-end screen quality I am certain they will strive to make this the best OLED offering out there.
Why this approach? With this screen, you won't be restricted to low response time if you want vivid and accurate colours like you would with the older IPS and LPS screens. This, in addition to wider viewing angles and improved brigthness, makes it the perfect screen for any computer task!

I realized that a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels would make this screen even more suited for professional users and enthusiasts. By making this a standard, it would be cheaper for DELL to use the same panel in other models later on. The users who don't want the high resolution can just adjust that with the Windows control panel or in the respective program.StigtriX Comment Link

i support the idea. I thnk that Stig has a great point here...that people tend to spend a lot of money for a great experience. Alienware should offer the best of the best.
