What information do we need to share to spawn new ideas? How should we share it?
The information needed in order to spawn new ideas is the information about goals, ideas and the general apporach which the respective company holds dear. In order to innovate, one must often think outside this box and revolutionize. The information should be easy to find on the company's site.
Who is not engaged that we need to get engaged?
Older people seem to be less engaged in the use of electronics and the internet. To make them more engaged, one needs simpler solutions. As an example: DELL could make the use of a PC easier with added software, something which DELL Stage already has. Just make it even simpler ane less resource hungry and include more options in an alternative menu for advanced users.
How do we get ideas tested, implemented, and spread more quickly?
Engage tech savy users who want to test the latest and gratest technology offered by the respective company. No one does a better job at testing than interested and enthusiastic people. Offer some advantages by participating to further boost their morale. This is a model often used in the gaming industry, especially in testing of big games like World of Warcraft.
What innovative approaches to reducing greenhouse gas emissions can business demonstrate today? How can ICT help?
Make all presentations, archives, documents etc. digital and usable on any device which supports open formats such as epub and PDF - skip paper. A cloud service with an integrated social part for employees, where they can share, comment and edit documents etc. would make it easy to avoid use of paper and at the same time avoid the need for niche products for specific tasks. If you open a document or edit it in the cloud service, your name will pop up in a list and the new version wille be added with a suffix eg. ver. "1.01". Some areas of the service are reserved for documents which are of the sensitive kind, with restricted access.
What resources and tools exist but are underutilized or still need to be created?
Cloud services, but they aren't all that advanced yet. And, of course, epub/ PDF documents - the best would be to offer epub only and guide the users to a site where one can download a program to convert the file format. This will keep the space needed for storage to a minimum.
What barriers keep employees and customers from contributing to innovation? How do we overcome them?
Strict company policies (the retrograded ones which have no real goal), internet sites which are hard to navigate and lack a place where customers can share their ideas and views (DELL's IdeaStorm is a step in the right direction, although it should be easier to find out about it)

Some of the functions could be a pack which is installed upon selection on the DELL site or by request at a physical store. If you make every DELL machine come with a custom interface like the DELL Stage, but easier to use and understand, you've nailed it. I've seen several older persons go for Mac because it's easier to understand the basics of the Apple OS.
THE USER INTERFACE
- intergrate it into the Windows taskbar. It's not fun to have a neat tool taking up space on the screen. Even when it's minimized it's blocking the user's view. Take a look at how the taskbar in Linux Ubuntu functions and base it on that. If I was an inexperienced user, I would not like to have an additional bar taking up space on my screen. I already have to take the Windows toolbar into consideration when navigating throught the Microsoft OS
- add a cleaner and neater music interface, like the one found in Spotify
- make it easy to adjust the size and shape of the taksbar and add the functions of Windows Ease of Access Center in a neat way
THE LOOK
- add a high-contrast logo theme which is easier to view for people with visual impairment
HOW DO I...?
- add a "how to" video on the desktop to get the user started - make the icon for this video huge

Thanks for sharing these thoughts. Would love to hear more about your idea to get older generations engaged in using technology to drive to more suystainable outcomes for society. Also, can you say more about what recommendations you might have to break through these adoption barriers?
