TELEMEDICINE : PC and SOFTWARE
I am a government doctor serving in rural place in India. i am working in PRIMARY HEALTH CENTER , GOVT OF KARNATAKA, INDIA. I am serving in rural place since 5 years in that place. There is good mobile network present. In my hospital desktop is present with internet facility WLL ( CDMA,EDGE) . There is network speed around 50 Kpbs-150 Kpbs.I will see daily about 30 to 40 patients in week days. I can diagnose routine diseases. Some of the diseases are not able to diagnose like cad, neuropathy , depression, mdi, chronic diseases, lrti, pediatrics infection diseases at this place. there are some of the super specialty related diagnosis and treatment is not able to serve at this place which is related to systemic organs like cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, orthopedics , obstetrics and gynecology and so on. For above said problems we need telemedicine system.
Requirement for telemedicine
- patient management software, telemedicine video conferencing software like Skype
- All in one pc energy efficient with high end processor and touch sensitive
- wifi video camera
- ecg machine, wireless stethoscope, mobile ultrasound scanning machine, x-ray scanning machine, printer with scanner, bp monitoring machine, video calposcope , ophthalmoscope , and camera fitted microscope
- low maintenance battery with inverter.
Personal computer configuration:-
It should be 26 inch touch sensitive led all in one pc, powerful small factor intel based processor with graphic processor and video compression technology, wifi , Bluetooth, inbuilt big camera, 3g slot with external antenna pin, wireless keyboard and mouse, usb, lan, comm ports, inbuilt sensitive microphone, inbuilt dual 10 watt speaker, and support for another wifi camera. itcan be called as communicator pc. there is no external video compression or other server is needed.
It should be like Skype. it should have patient online registration, patient history recording through typing , voice or video, case sheet according to organ system for doctors, p2p video conferencing, and ability to switch over to wifi cam , ultrasound scanning machine virtual video upload, simultaneously two video streaming software one for video conferencing another for scanning video or x ray or data, and it should be compressed maximum level . video conferencing should be done at least low level 140 Kpbs, middle level 256 Kpbs, high End 512 kpbs, High definition 1 Mpbs and software supports for all medical equipment for virtualization, easy interferace.sms alert to doctor, doctors profile, hospital, map for location of doctor, apps integration, white board, lab results entry and display, dual camera mode.
