Let's see some new commercials! The recent HP ad campaign is incredibly appealing, incorporating famous people/characters and emphasis on the personalization part of the personal computer. All Dell is offering is the same old assembly line commercial with a little blip about a sale at the end. Surely you can do better than that.

    I saw a Web advertisement for HP saying "Welcome to Camp HP" or similar. It really is a pity that Dell did not think of it first.

    Dell's Core Strength has always been its direct relationship. Dell needs to develop commercials which talk to this strength, the assembly line was good, but it's only a start. Also on the Star gate post above, I'm sure the Atlantians used USB for everything.

    try stargate atlantis sometime. i can watch that show and see my own laptop on there being hooked up to a stargate - sweet! where's the port for that??

    Dell does alot of product placements in TV shows. Last night was the season finale of House MD and in one scene was a huge product placement. They shot the scene in a way that they kept showing the back of a computer monitor with DELL in huge letters. I laughed so hard because most product placements are subtle but this one was so obvious. The only way it could have been more obvious would be if the had the Dell logo flashing blue or something.

    I apologize if this post feels repetitive--before posting I checked the first few popular ideas pages and did a search. All I found were ideas that were very specific and catered to people that were already computer literate (advertise Ubuntu, advertise XPS). I'd like to see a campaign that appeals to the general public like HP's.

    I have not personally seen a Dell commercial but I would have to say that I think the IBM/Lenovo commercials are actually funny and get your attention! If Dell were to create funny commercials like IBM has then they would grab more peoples attention.

    Let's show the reactions our customers have to Dell Ubuntu Peryl Ultra Portables from the perspective of the built-in webcam, and then show what its like when everybody gathers around it.
