Keep it thin and improve battery life

The XPS 13 is the perfect form factor for a portable developer laptop, please keep this option regardless of any other form factors that you may consider offering.

For me I would like to see a slightly higher spec XPS 13:

  • Ram - 6Gb would be plenty (no need to be upgradable for this portable form factor)
  • CPU and Graphics - Any improvements welcome only if they do not impact negatively on battery life.
  • Display - Please improve this, 1366×768 is not good enough. Minimum would be 1600×900, and please offer a matte display.
  • Battery life - This is the most important for me, 7-8 hours of realistic usage is what I need form a portable laptop. I would not buy an XPS 13 for anything but portability and if the battery cannot last then this would be a pointless laptop.

The screen bit is true and not just for devs, for word/excel/PS/Indesign, they all need minimum 1600x900 to not have to be minimising and switiching windows constantly.

Currently running XPS 14 with 1366x768 and have hung myself 3 times using it so far.

At this rate will run out of lives before I am married. Someone please make the min res for 13" - 17" system 1600x900 PLEASE!!!!!

Sub 13" is fine at 1366x768, but 13" and over no way!
