Have option for Insperion users to "design" own laptop covers

When I purchased my latest laptop from Dell last year, I meant to purchase a switchable laptop plate at the same time. I neglected to do so at the time. I am just now finding the time to get back around to looking and of course, the selection has totally changed. Not only has it changed, but the supply of available covers seems to have diminished to nothing. Wasn't there an option to pick your favorite sports team or something at one time? How about offering the customer the chance to design their own cover. Yes, it would cost the customer more, but if they are like me, they might be willing to pay a little extra to get what they want. Please excuse me if this idea has already came and went. As an example, Dell could make me, most happy by offering a "Chuy's" cover. I love Chuy's! I am stuck here in Colorado and have to wait for a reason to come visit Texas to get Chuy's. Or a nice picture of Bluebonnets. I guess I am probably dating myself and not falling into the correct demographics for who the users and buyers are of the laptops, but it would be nice to be able to submit a picture a say, please make this my laptop cover, and "Viola!" . Grandkids, puppies, goldfish, whatever within the limits of public display of course, there you have it. Thanks for listening. Hope all is well and warm in Texas.     Its a good Idea, Dell should have a Service where you upload a picture and get the laptop cover made with your picture.

    They have a template of the laptop cover and you have to place your picture in the appropriate place, obviously with a high enough resolution.

    I have used a website with a similar concept to get a custom made Tee-Shirt before. 

    The option should be made available when purchasing Home Systems such as the Inspiron and Studio range.

    One solution could be an additional charge added to customers' purchases who want their own design as the laptop cover.  In this manner you could upload images created in Photoshop into an interface, or draw and save possible designs in a flash-based painting tool on the Dell website.

    There's nothing stopping you designing your own covers, and going into buiness selling them. You could design your own, and then contact Dell Round Rock, Tx to see if they will accept your design. If you have the flare for that, you could even make some money out of it.
