Today our Dell Sales/Marketing Rep gave our company a demo of the Dell XT3 convertible tablet, and showed how the screen could pivot once opened in order to convert it from a tablet to a laptop. He was telling us how the new upcoming XT4 would be able to flip the screen instead of twisting it around. I asked him why it had to move at all, and what if Dell could be able to have a convertible tablet that would automatically show it's display on the side of the lid that it was meant for. So with it closed, it would display on the outside, and when opened, it would automatically switch to the inside, WITH AN INTERIOR BUTTON that would allow display on BOTH sides, allowing others to see what you were seeing if desires (such as for a business presentation). He said good idea, and to go to dell.com/ideas and share it with you...Bill DiSanto

That is correct, however the XT-Convertible tablet line is not promoting the size/weight like the XPS line is. Some people don't mind the extra thickness/weight, myself included as I am currently using the E6520 which is big and heavy but is also more powerful, has a larger screen, and a longer-life battery.Mar 16, 2012

Your idea would require two LCD screens, increasing the thickness, weight, and cost.expatinasia Comment Link
