After recently getting a optx lcd screen I found a few issues with the overall design of it... for the most part, I love the thing, but I have a few suggestions.
1: Headphone and Microphone outputs on the lcd. Right now there is a audio in (from PC to lcd) and a audio out (from lcd to headphone). But I use the tactx headphones that have both mic and headphone jacks connected.... I cant use both now with out running a extra wire from the computer to the mic jack... this makes having a headphone jack on the lcd useless to gamers who need to talk back and forth too. So put a headphone and mic jacks in there, but maybe put them on the side of the lcd instead of the bottom, I hate having my headphone cables running over the top of the keyboard.
2: Soundbar mounts. It would not take too much to cast the mounts for one of your sound bar speakers into the lcd. I have a dell soundbar, but I had to double stick tape it on. Yes, alot of gamers want to have big surround sound speakers, but there are also alot of gamers who just dont have the space for a nice speaker system, or live in a place that a subwoofer will end with a noise complaint. Thus a soundbar would be perfect for them.
3: hdmi jacks. I have the older optx 21.5 inch lcd, I got it over the newer bigger one for the simple fact that it has 2 hdmi ports and a dvi... I can use the dvi for the computer and the hdmi ports for my other game systems. So please put the hdmi ports back on.
4: LED lights. Since you already have a usb hub built into the lcd, this next thing shouldnt be that hard to add. But make the alienhead light up on the back with controls in the command center. Allow the front lights for all the power and settings be adjustable like the rest of your alienfx lights.
5: IO port lights, maybe put some lights near the ports (like the aurora has on the back). When I need to plug somehting into the bottom of the lcd, I find myself using my cell phone, or trying to find the flash light just to see where I am plugging things into.

Maybe just add a mic jack then next to the headphone jack. That would make things a little better, and wouldnt really cost much more than a few cents per monitor. Drill 2 holes, install mic jacks, done. Im going to go to radio shack tonight to add this to my optx :)Idealy with the soundbar I would like to see something that allows use of the AY5122 sound bar, it is almost as wide as the 21.5 optx, the current buttons on it match that of the optx monitors buttons. It doesnt fit perfect though due to the bottom of the optx monitor having angles instead of a flat bottom. But its a pretty good fit.
On the same topic of the AY511, it has a subwoofer output, but no one really sells a subwoofer that has a RCA input, except for home theater subwoofers, but those are far too big for the little sound bar. Perhaps you could get with the company that makes that sound bar and get a small add on subwoofer to go with it.

Thank you for your comment. I think having the headphone on the side of the LCD will make the cable get in the way of your gaming either by the keyboard or in the way of your screen. But we will take a look at itWe will review your soundbar comment, it is a good idea.
I like your idea about LCD near the ports, we will also see what we can do about it
Thanks
