IdeaStorm can help take your idea and turn it into reality.
Over 18,901 ideas submitted. 740,916+ votes. 97,840+ comments. 531+ ideas implemented.
Lot's of important ideas are going down and I would like to bring them up! Reading the first 10-30 idea on the main page worthless, nonsense, just taking the space.
We need to change on it; like let's rate ideas on 10 high scale, where 10 points is the highest rate, while 1 point is the lowest. Those with the lowest scores are going to the background, while the highest rated ideas will be front of the eyes.

I`m sure voting has gone down. Not many people want to click to get into the idea to vote.sugarbear

If there is no demote button, they can discuss the reason(s) on why this would not work. A discussion is better that just saying not with a vote.pudgyone

I think one vote per person per idea is the way to go. Since all of the proposed ideas are available to the Dell decision makers, adding a sliding scale indicating a percentage of goodness on the open-ended "cool" scale is not necessary. Too, pandering for virtual dollars to buy a computer would have people gaming the system.expatinasia

Not all users want to debate at all.

IMDB.com also use 10 high scale voting system and I do not think people just click on one extrem. Most of the users are likes thinking, more challenging to determine how good is one idea than just push Promote or nothing.I also like the more votes per idea concept or unlimited votes per idea for credit (money). The implemented idea's ideamaker could receive those credits and could use to purchase his/her dream laptop.

I preferred having the ability to vote Ideas up or down. I did notice however that there was one or two people that just demoted every single idea.natakuc4
The list of people that have voted on the idea has also been removed. I think this was a good move because people would vote others ideas down if they seen that someone had demoted their idea down.
The % scale or 1-10 votes per idea is an interesting concept. For Mendeley Desktop feedback they only let you have 10 vote and you may place 1, 2 or 3 votes per idea. The votes are then returned to you when an Idea is Implemented or status is changed to planned, not planned etc. This means they address the ones with the highest votes first but means one can't be very actively promoting a great deal of Ideas, thus my activity there is totally limited there.

I wonder how well such a voting scale would be used. Do you think most users would take the time to give a specific rating or would just click on one extream and move on? Hyncharas may be on to something with the demotes being removed and I agree that most people do not want to debate on ideas. Tthere may be more to it than that alone. Since you have to click into each idea in order to vote on it, voting may decrease overall as well. Time will tell if voting was affected by that change but I'd like to discuss your idea further.Apr 14, 2012 Comment Link

I think the problem is that the demote button was removed; in turn as a way of adding comments to explain why they don't like certain ideas. Unfortunately, not all users want to debate in that manner.Hyncharas
