I want a thin and light laptop that I can actually put on my lap. The XPS 13 comes so close but it still has vents on the underside that get blocked if you put it on your lap, or the couch, or your bed.
With the advent of tablets and other fanlesss computing devices, gone are the days where I want to be worrying about where I put my laptop down in case I block a vent or fan intake, that's old school, I want the future.

Agreed. And now with Ivy Bridge and Trinity supposedly running cooler and with less power, how about simply using a heatsink and maybe even link it to the outer, metallic layer of the lid to help dissipate heat (rather than the bottom, since the goal is to be able to place it on your lap or any other surface without worry about heat build up on that surface or inside the machine). And since heat travels upward...BTW, the bottom should still be a nice, high-quality, non-conductive material like the carbon-fiber in the XPS 13
