I think that is a good Idea for Dell computer to come with a package of preinstalled Open Source softwares (i.e. Open Office, Gimp, Firefox,Thunderbird, Java,ecc.)

Dell can become a standard for Open Source fans.

    btw - it has been reported that Dell has had a 'management shakeup' ... so, if any were axed, we haven't heard it specifically announced... perhaps that was a kindness to them...?

    that may be true but I don't believe in "the power of double posting". Anyway let's hope they respond to the idea... Maybe we'll get a new dell.com/openoffice page saying it's "for techyes and advanced users" o.O (no... really...)

    yeah but they haven't said who is getting laid off yet and they are the most expensive. i don't think they would be that stupid to lay off the North American tech people but you never know if they are just looking at savings or not.
