In Dell's configuration tool, we can choose between HDD and SSD, and the size we want, but that's it. Since SSDs can vary tremendously in performance, my idea is simple: tell us, in the configuration tool, which model of SSD we will be getting, or at least the list from which Dell will choose based on availability at that time.

Agreed! :)StigtriX
As far as I know, DELL uses SAMSUNG SSDs in laptops, and the current ones are the PM800 MLCs because of the price/performance ratio. They are quite good, but not high-end.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! :) Lionel Menchaca wrote: "No, the Samsung model I mention(PM800) in the post is the model we're going to ship for some time". This was posted in June 2011, so there is a possibility for an upgrade I haven't heard of.

When it comes to SSDs in stationaries, I'm afraid the choices are often only mentioned with size and performance without the names. This is unfortunate as it can seem that DELL has something to hide when they really haven't. I'd appreaciate better description of the choices too - it looks more professional and makes the buyers feel safer.
