When looking for drivers to download for my desktops or laptops I would appreciate if there was a DOWNLOAD ALL option which would save me time in choosing drivers especially when I have to rebuild a computer from scratch.

Dell really needs to get their act together and implement a package management system similar to those found in Linux distributions. Why download a zip file when you can just update your system or even create a local mirror/cache of the repository.Apr 7, 2012 Comment Link

Yes it would be nice to have the ability to download all the drivers for a system in a .zip file similar to downloading a folder from Windows Live SkyDrive.natakuc4
The extracted contents of the zip file should look something like this, with all the drivers listed in the recommended install order.
For example my Inspiron 6400 under Windows XP, would have:
R120775, R114079, R141246, R153830, R114200, R90851, R171789, R149798, R150593, R171131, R120179, R180759, (R159805 & R161378) in each of the folders. Of course for this to work, inputting a service tag must yield the correct system drivers, which does not happen on many new systems. c.f. my complaints here and my remark here about customising/updating the drivers list associated with a Service Tag.
I thought I made a similar Idea with a Dell drivers and download .iso but I must of only mentioned it on the Rockstar forums. I have the schematic image still however. This was to create an .iso of all the drivers for your system (again basing it on the model above).
The drivers; Dell Notebook Software, Intel Chipset, Ricoh Chipset, Video, Conexant Driver, Conexant Application, Broadcom Driver, Broadcom Diagnostics, Intel PROSET Wireless, Audio, Touchpad, Dell Quickset, Bluetooth. Then optional things such as Dell Support Centre, the Dell BIOs and any firmware although I never recommend installing firmware as have had bad experiences with it in the past.
This large driver .iso or .exe should automatically install all the above drivers in the correct order. One that of course can be downloadable on another computer and then installed via a USB stick. I think some other users have asked for this for some time.
Of course when installing via this method have a recommended or "basic" setting (which automatically installs everything necessary in the recommended order, but does not install firmware updates and gives the option to update the BIOs when done). Also an advanced setting such as the basic schematic below.
This program should automatically reboot the computer several times as required to install the drivers. One should essentially be able to run the program, go for a coffee and come backwith their system drivers all installed in the correct order.
The help button should tell the user what each program is, e.g. Dell Quickset, provides some necessary keyboard functions/power options.

How exactly are you searching for the drivers? I checked this morning and if you use the "Analyze this system for updates" option you get a customized list and an option to "download this list".
