i prefer dell using ivy bridge processor for this model and also hdd/ssd hybrid drives for this model ( example:2*750gb hdd/8gb ssd) for better performing and also bluetooth 4.0 and slim bezel for the screen and also better viewing angle and also keppler nvidia graphic card(gt 6xx or higher). thx billMar 20, 2012

Thanks for sharing you ideas with us. I will address them in line.-Quad core i7 sandy bridge- 3 Quad Core options currently available.
-Backlit keyboard- Standard feature.
-RGBLED Full HD- Under review.
-Thinner Design- Under review.
-Integrated numpad- Standard feature.
-JBL Audio and wavemaxx audio- If we do another 17" XPS, it will likely carry the same class of speaker and Wavemaxx Audio.
-usb 3.0- Standard feature.
- e-sata/usb 2.0 combo- Standard feature.
-2 usb 2.0- Standard feature.
-thunderbolt port- I don't think we're evaluating T-Bolt, but I can check.
At this point we are still considering our strategy and offerings across the entire XPS line. More to come.

I agree! I was drooling when I saw this model, but the modle is lacking when it comes to updated parts.

What it needs:
- RGBLED Full HD, matte 18'' screen in a 17.3'' body
- no logo beneath the screen - it looks ugly and ruins the overall design
- better speakers (JBLwould be nice)
- USB 3.0 only
- designed like Dell XPS 14z
- better cooling with less noise
- no chrome trim - it is a disaster on the current models and falls off in no time, resulting in a worn-out look
- more sturdy build without flex. The lid is especially horrible on current models
- nVIDIA GTX 570 or better for more power (GTX 555 is too weak for my use)
- tray-loading optical drive with Blu-ray support
- 9-cell battery
Now we're talking!

I would instantly buy three of these for me, my wife, and my son. We all need to be mobile, but we don't want to lose performance either. I am a heavy photoshop user that needs a high performance processor (quadcore highly preferred, and a good graphics card for working with 3d models). I hope that this comes around soon. Ideally I would like to see an nvidia 555m gddr5 1.5gb in one of these.Aug 9, 2011 Comment Link
