The delay in providing the 2nd generation intel CPu with the 9100 series desktop is unecessarily limiting its potential for consumers who want to acquire this technologuy in a product that provides a step down from alienware but improves upon the xps 8300 with its limited case size, power supply and other customizeable  options.

I would like to see dell provide this 2nd gen cpu soon in its 9100 desktop series ...without this option I am one comsumer who  would vote for this option with my wallet or alternatively not purchase a dell as  I cannot accept the limitations of the 8300 series or price point of the alienware series with its i7-900s series cpu.

I invite any thoughts or comments especially from dell on their plans for the future of finally allowing the 2nd gen intel cpu to find its way into the 9100 series desktops.

The 9100's will be refreshed when Intel's Ivy Bridge CPUs are released. They are supposed to feature quad-channel memory which means possibly up to eight DIMM slots.
