Good News Everybody!!

I have been searching for a new laptop and I have fallen in love with the 11.6 screen form factor. Its great because of the small footprint it has and It can be taken anywhere. I also love gaming too but that what my desktop that I built is for.

So I want a laptop that games at an 11.6 inch display but I need to be productive on it too considering I am about to leave college here in a second. So i want a highest resolution display available to at least mimic my multi monitor setup at home. The m11x R3 has a 1366x768 display which is ok I have used that in the past and I can't windows snap two documents side by side and read them considering with the width of text. So I'd like a screen upgrade.

In this day and age the 9.7 inch screen on an iPad has a 2048x1536 at 236 Pixels per an Inch......... This makes the 135 PPI of the current M11x look like a childs toy. Yeah, that is ridiculous for a device that handles one task at a time that is made for housewives. Can we please take these displays and put them where they should go and into a ultra portable computer?!?! For all my live I have just wanted the smallest computer possible to play games half decently at a respectable resolution. but no. that height has been stuck at 768 pixels since I can remember.

Can I get some replys on this post if you concur!?! Lets make Dell take notice.

I have wanted this laptop so bad I made the mistake of purchasing a old Alienware from 2004-2007 and being very very dissappointed by the integrated graphics. This laptop lasted me about 3 years until I broke a hinge, and ran the thing hard into the ground (not literally). It had a resolution of 1024x768. After that, I said screw it and accepted I was not going to game on my laptop for years to come so I bought the smallest Lenovo accepting I can only play Starcraft 1 and sort of CS Source on its 1366x768 display. Yeah, my laptop I purchased in 2008 has the same resolution display. But the kid in me still wants this mythical unicorn laptop i have merely dreamed about.

I hope Dell comes to their senses and sees this post. We can beat Apple at their own game (retina displays! derp) considering the Macbook Air 11.6inch has a 1366x768 display.......

This is a call to action Gentlemen! PCs and its users pride themselves in having the latest hardware in this unregulated market with more product selection and lots of competition. This is designed to breed a better machine in less time. We have the interchangeable parts and the technology. The macbook Air has not been updated for 261 days. The Average for a refresh of it is 321 days with the largest being 499 days. This gives us merely 60 days from today to beat Apple because you know their Macbook Air Refresh will have an upgraded screen.

The point of this post is to show I want the Alienware m11x R4 as soon as possible because I want to see Dell succeed and I am in need of a new Laptop and I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE COMPROMISES!! That is what the Alienware brand is about and the sooner it happens the sooner I can be more than a happy customer.

I know its a large selling point that the Laptop is under $1000 but any good gamer would change the processor to an i5 with the killer wireless card considering the benchmarks. The puts the laptop at $1250 before tax. If I am spending that much money, I laugh at the netbook screen. I am not asking for HD resolutions (even though that'd be sweet!) just an update. Well, I have wasted too much time into looking at laptops, off to my Job Search, I will check back alter. Thank you for all your guys time!

I agree on increasing the resolution. I don't mind small pixels. Surely a 1600x900 matte screen would make a lot of people happier, and wouldn't cause a huge drop in frame rates.

At least make it an option?

You ARE going to release an m11x R4 aren't you Alienware/Dell?!?

I agree! Many seem to overlook the fact that even though GPUs on laptops aren't powerful enough to provide gaming at more than 1920x1080 with decent performance, other tasks such as general office tasks, browsing, video editing, drawing and 3D modelling will be a lot smoother with higher pixel density and the added work space.

I would love if 2560x1440 (16:9) became the new standard for DELL laptops. If it became the standard on all DELL laptops, the increased production cost would go down in no time :) It would also give "free" PR.
