for the past few weeks i've noticed that my laptop has been getting really hot - and all i'm doing with word processing and browsing the web (bought May/June 08)


first, it was on my legs.... when i got up the area where it was became red (and stayed that way for about 2 hours) which is not normal for me.

secondly, i used it in my room for 30 minutes chatting on MSN and IRC and noticed the room temp was warm/hot --- and this is on a coldish-night with the window open a bit.


i've had my HD replaced (a few months ago (about Sept/Oct 08)) because of the overheating damaged/fried the drive... that was after only a few months having it and looks like that will happen again.

DELL, MAKE A PRODUCT THAT HAS GOOD QUALITY.  MY NEIGHBOUR (whom i've known for over 20 years) SAYS DELL QUALITY IS BAD... and after dealing with this laptop i would have to agree.
If it happens again i'm getting a Lenovo (my neighbour recommended) or HP - at least their customer service department is helpful - for me and my business.
