admins, please implement a points system that more accurately reflects the user's approval or disapproval of an idea. no more promote/demote 50/50! start with -10 for complete disgust over an idea, and end with 10 points for absolute reverence! then you'll get a true reflection of the ideastorm community's real feeling toward each idea.

I still think the best measure is what percentage of people who voted voted for or against an idea; and that popular ideas should be sorted by %-of-people-approving; so Ideas would be ranked from 0% to 100%. Hey, they could even call the 90%-100% ideas "A" ideas, 80-90% "B" ideas, etc. But this sure is better than the current system which mostly measures how many users visited IdeaStorm the day an idea got posted.Mar 1, 2008 Comment Link

markvs624, LOL again! "but i'm afraid they don't trade in points. a good idea, though. i could sell you some points on ebay!" Yes they do not trade in points, just U.S. dollars. The selling points on ebay thing is so humorous, I really like it!Mar 1, 2008 Comment Link

Once an idea has more then 100 motes or demotes you won't know how many voted either way.Mar 1, 2008 Comment Link

whatelse would be nice is the % approval rating. for example, right now this idea has 80 pts. and one demote (-10 pts) that gives it an approval rating of 89% (i did that in my head so it could be wrong)Mar 1, 2008 Comment Link
