I've always thought that the 13.3" screen was the ultimate laptop screen - it has a more eye-friendly dot pitch than the 12", isn't as ungainly or heavy as a 14.1" and it accommodates a wider keyboard quite easily.

Sony has it in the SZ series and Apple has it in the MacBook pro, but I'm a Dell guy - can you hook a brother up?

Check out the XPS M1330.

ddssolano - this has nothing to do with "following" other companies - it has to do with the following of customer desires. Apple and Sony have put out 13.3" screens because they fit a need that is NOT met by a 15.4" screen - namely portability without being too too small. I think Jervis' point is more that just because you want a 15.4" screen, there's no reason to vote against a 13.3". It's not like Dell is going to offer just one notebook. If there are reasons you think a 13.3" screen is a BAD idea, I'd love to hear them, and I'm sure that the Dell reps would, too.

Dell won't 'follow' Apple by adopting the 13.3 inch screen because Apple didn't invent the 13.3 inch screen...

Agreed on the weight of the Macbook - way too heavy. No need for that....

I can't believe people would be against this. 13.3 is the perfect size for portability. While I love using a 15" screen its a pain to travel with, 12" is nice but too small for me screen wise.

that is true, for mobility, 13.3 inch is the best choice, and i had a macbook 13.3, which is 5p plus, still to heavy for my liking. under 4ib would be the ideal weight.

You're right - I meant the MacBook, not the pro version.

MacBook Pro only has 15 or 17 inch screens. MacBook (white or black) has 13.3" screen, but I think 15"is easier for the eyes. I am wishing for a 15" XPS machine, but for some reason they are not manufactured.
