Dell inspired - Chip on the shoulder

Transform the persona of information technology. Give the IT services industry shoulder pads! Some scientist, techies, engineers, and mathematicians drink Red Bull too! Many IT organizations could use some competitive (trash) talk to get the juices flowing a bit. Really go after Cisco and others (Facebook) in the battle to improve cybersecurity and user privacy, through continuous exploration of new technology (i.e. quantum computing). I’m no expert but at the end of the day industry leaders are in battle, correct? Be the actively working change people want to see. This may mean rolling up your sleeves and showing a bit of muscle, or lack thereof, even if the technology is not within complete grasps or cost efficient at this time. Start by bumping the “Security” menu option under the Products & Services drop down to the top of the list on the Dell homepage. Current events show government agencies leading the charge to address concerns of cybersecurity and user protection. This should not be the case. Dell can be one of the world’s most ethical companies, with a chip on its shoulder, or not.

Dell Premier configuration update

We are using the Dell Premier portal for quite a while. Using several standard client configurations.Sometimes a specific part (hardware or software) of the configuration isn't available. This will make the complete configuration invisible within the portal. Not knowing for us why.It should be very helpfull for us that the configuration remains visible within the portal. A status update should be attached, which tells us the configuration will change.

Dell 3000 Series Dock

Can engineering add a power button on the top of the D3000 series dockingstation? Most if not all of my customers who use this, have their laptop lid closed already.  Why should they have to open the lid, hit the power button, then close the lid.  The old style dock has a power button on the top.

One page for BIOS and TPM updates

It would be great if all the current BIOS updates could be posted on a single page for SCCM system administrators, such as the Dell Command | Deploy page or Command | Configure page.  It would also be nice to have the newest 32bit/64bit TPM 1.2/2.0 updaters and the x64 BIOS updater on the same page.  Finding the newest TPM updater is especially difficult right now, because they are not all on one page, and when you do find a page for one of them it doesn't say whether it is the most current.

save cart

Hi, ist it possible to provide a "save cart" option, which simply stores the current cart?To get the price, I add everything to the cart, see how much it costs.  I tell my boss what it costs. Now I need to order a few cables quickly. I have to empty the cart, buy the cables, and add everything back to the cart again.A "save cart" button (similar to lists) would be a huge time saver.Regards, F. Esche

Hi, if I want to make a new order but haven't sent the old one, I have to remove every single item by hand. A "clear cart" button which removes everything from the cart would be a fantastic tool to speed up that process.Regards, F. Esche

Hi, I have noticed when the quote across the month but still within the quotation validity, the price will get changed in Premier ordering portal. It caused our ordering process difficult. I have to make sure the amount in the quotation is correct right before I submit the request for approval. But still, I checked 2 days ago and order today, the shipment and handling charge changed!!It is not a big amount, but I have to amend our PO otherwise it will cause mismatch when invoice arrived.Few months back I had the same issue in which all the prices get changed, and required our Account manager from Dell to honour the order. Can the Premier portal be more professional?Thx

I do NOT want to be recommended to. OFten I have a vague set of specs that I am looking for to fulfill a clients needs and I am looking at many configurations. KEEP the search criteria on the side but keep or add the following items to choose from:keep family & model breakdown (optiplex vs inspiron)add i3 vs i5 vs i7 to replace "intel core i"scale up memory choices to reflect current configurations: below 4g, 4g, 6-8g, above 8 gigremove cd-rom/dvd choicesI never use the rest of the options as those are not criteria on which a purchase would be based.Status Update: This idea has been implemented by the Dell Outlet team. Thank you for posting!

I'd like to see the shopping experience simplified by 100-fold by only listing systems that are in stock.  It's like having empty shelves at the store - what was there? was it better? will it be back? was it a better deal?.  Currently, you have to click on the system listed, then Check Prices to see if there are any in stock.  I'd like to see a more streamlined approach to selling these:  Click on Servers and see a list of currently-in-stock systems, then have the ability to filter that list by model, memory, drives, etc.Status Update: This idea is currently under review by the Dell Outlet team. Please understand that we will be limited in the information we can share during this process.
