I was in the market for a small/light (11.6" screen) laptop or 2-in-1. I did not care about the fastest processor, as it would be a second computer, but I did want 8GB of RAM, which in 2018 is really the minimum 90% of home/office customers need for web browsing, videos, Office, etc. None of your 11.6" home options offer more than 4GB of RAM. Worse, none of them are user-upgradeable; the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. SO I could not even buy an Inpspiron 11.6" 3179, for instance, and upgrade it myself to 8GB of RAM. As a result, Dell lost my business to a competitor. I highly recommend you at least make an option for 8GB for even your basic, cheap laptops. I would have loved 8GB in the Inspiron 3179 with a Pentium N4200 or Core m3 processor, and a small 128GB SSD. And I would have paid a premium to have that configuration. I am sure I am not alone.
Produce monitors with the same, interactive screen on both the front and back. This would prevent having to turn ones monitor so that a person sitting opposite can view what is being discussed. This would be useful in financial markets, doctor offices, insurance companies, businesses, schools, and anywhere that an individual wants to show another what is on their screen, but had to constantly turn the screen for the other person to view it. One side (front) monitor allows the presenter to continue without turning it for the viewer to see, while the viewer can see what is being presented, no screen turning, no craning necks. Both presenter and viewer could have access, by mouse, of pointing items of concern.
Dell needs to have a "reorder" option for past orders. I have several staple products (ie.. printer toner) that I order every month and what a hassle it is to find the toner I need. Right now I go to: Shop > Assessories & Peripherals > Printers, Ink and Toner > Color Laser > Model > Select Item > Order, done. Why not have an option within past orders and/or within your profile have a list of prevously ordered items with the "Order Again" option. Future menus then would be: Shop > Previous Ordered Items > Select Item > Order, Done.Better yet, also give customers an option of "automatic" reoccuring ordering and shipping. Send this shipment every month or whatever the timeline the customer sets. My time becomes more efficient and Dell still gets a sale on a reoccuring order. Customer satisfaction.
The packing list STICKER (that is on every new Dell order) needs to be changed to something else. When you get a new machine and you want to keep your packing list, what does a customer do with this sticker? The adhesive is stronger than most duct tape!So what is the direction of Dell? Customers supposed to stick this to a piece of paper and then file it?Before we get far, examine one. THE PACKING LIST IS IN ALL CAPS AND THE FONT IS SO SMALL HOW IS ANYONE ABLE TO READ IT? So there's strike 2. Not user friendly and IMO, worthless. This entire process needs to be redesigned. Eliminate the STICKER and the CAPS.
I live in Belgium and bought the XPS 13" for its touchscreen HOWEVER the reflective screen drives me nuts when i sit near a window at home or in the office with the lights on. Simple request: please make XPS 13" models that have an anti-glare touchscreen (FHD or QHD+) and also make it available in countries like Belgium. Please give this idea a vote up if you support it. Thanks.
Never offer, sell, ship or promote a product for which you do not provide a User Manual. The Alienware 15 R3 ships with a slip of paper that only shows how to plug in the mains cable! And that's it. Unbelievable!.
Dell has pre-installed McAfee for years, and now I think it's high time to end that partnership and partner with AVG to pre-install their software on new Dell systems. AVG offers a free antivirus that never expires, and it's better than Windows 10's built-in Windows Defender (i.e. you can't schedule scans in Defender, but in AVG). When you purchase a Dell system, you can select either the free edition of AVG, or a paid subscription. Most people would want the free edition, but to get more features (such as Firewall), you would have to purchase a subscription. I think pre-installing AVG would be a good option for Dell, because it would be inconvenient for people to uninstall McAfee and install AVG.
modified/cutomised dellinspiron 15 7000. i wanted that laptop to have better specs, a little bit changes like instead of 960m to be 965m and ram should be ddr4 instead of ddr3 and it should also give us usb-c port by just increasing the price by 100cad
Yep, you read right. This is a big idea, in the sense that, it requires alot of time, effort and money! I was never a big fan of Dell's inspiron or Xps line of laptop machines or to be honest, any of their 'for home' systems. They looked unappealing and horribly outdated. However alot has changed and Dell seems to have done a fabulous job with combining practicality with elegant design. I'm a huge fan of their new XPS lineup and I'm sure alot of you reading this are too. However....there's just one little piece of aluminium that seems out of place....the logo. It just feels out of place and dated. A great example of an apporpriate logo refresh is HP...on their premium laptops, the new logo fits perfectly. Previous assosiations with the tradtional "work" related HP are almost forgetten when you look at their new logo (kinda...it's premium at least ;P) . Granted, it's not on all their products, and it doesn't need to be (that's debatable). But they're premium line has a consistent elegant look and feel. Your XPS line are your "premium" line of laptops.....so changing the logo on those machines at least, would be a welcome change. Obviously you'd have to consider its benefit/ROI...and hopefully this post would be a decent (or atleast a small ) indicator...that...it's worth it : ) Ps: If anyone has any design ideas...please feel free to share it Thanks : )
I would like to see you manufacture a computer for elderly people. This machine would be alot like a childs first computer so the operator can't make a mistake that would damage the machine. Load it with games that stimulate the mind and helps with medical conditions like Dementia.
