I was wondering if there was a way to use kinetic energy to power our devices. I was thinking maybe a ring the stored kinetic energy for the movement of your finger could provide a charge for your phone. I understand the capcity would not be very large but this could be incorperated into bracelets necklaces and or watches. The power could even be swapped through Qi charging so no wires would be needed.

People use the touch-screen computers to surf the web, write e-mails, watch movies and read books. I just think about the touch computer mouse. It may be getting better when just touching the mouse will move.
You better do if fast..the first to market wins the lion share of the profits... Please come up with a dual monitor laptop. Every one has one on their desk, except on tdy trips or travel. Wouldn't it be a site to behold if someone had a dual monitor laptop while on travel... wow!! It would force everyone else to produce one or be out of date.Respectfully,Glenn Corbett
Think of a device something like a keyboard (foldable to make the size smaller so that it can be carried in pocket) with embedded projector or something like that( I believe a mobile was available in market similar to that ).Then this will be connected to network through WiFi and office servers.This should be used as laptop in offices.What is the benefit:Major one is data security that is threatening most of the organizations. This is because no data is saved in the device, everything directly gets stored in secured servers.Added advantages,1)less physical network requirements in office2) less office space, since no space required to install docking stations or desktop3) no data breach due to loss of deviceNot sure if this is something that is achievable or its already available.Your views please.
You may recognize this: In the morning your room or office gets brighter and you turn up the brightness a couple of times to a comfortable level. Conversely, you find yourself turning down the brightness a couple of times in the evening as the brightness quickly gets too high in a dim room.Idea: to have the brightness change automatically based on a brightness profile you set yourself, or to change the brightness automatically and smoothly depending on the sunrise and sunset (like f.lux does with color temperature).This could be done by utilizing a small software utility (by connecting the monitor through USB; note that this is already often the case as the monitor can be used as USB hub), or this could be done entirely inside the monitor. I'll leave the practicalities to the Dell engineers.Thanks.
Can engineering add a power button on the top of the D3000 series dockingstation?Most if not all of my customers who use this, have their laptop lid closed already. Why should they have to open the lid, hit the power button, then close the lid. The old style dock has a power button on the top.
I have been a Dell customer for 30+ years for myself and various businesses. I would not buy another Dell laptop unless the touchpad was centered under the G&H keys (like the spacebar).Touchpads should be centered under the G&H keys (like the space bar). When placed off-center, touch typists (like myself) inadvertently set off the touchpad with parts of our hand and with heat from our hand. No sensitivity settings help. Lenovo and HP are going back to centering their touchpads underneath the G&H keys. Dell should do the same. For a good example, look at the Lenovo Yoga 920. I can't imagine why any computer maker would NOT want to center the touchpad under the G&H keys (like the spacebar). Dell has some models with correct touchpads, but not the one I need.If you have a good reason for NOT centering your touchpad under the G&H keys (like the spacebar), I'd appreciate if you could let me know what it is. Would any customers be upset if the touchpad were centered under the G&H keys (like the spacebar)? I'm very active in design, and always interested in how these horrible design mistakes get perpetuated. Thank you.
It is surprising to me that no one has invented a silent mouse yet. Keyboards are relatively quiet, but I know that it would be great as a graphic designer to not hear the constant click, click, clicking. I would suggest that Dell create a silent mouse accessory.
Simply add a wireless charging point to the top of the docking stations for mobiles.
I'm a web developer, wannabe game programmer and game player. My ideal monitor would be:30", 16:10, IPS, LED backlighting, narrow bezels, 4k at 60 Hz and capable of 144 Hz at 2k.Nice to have: I am currently running nVidia, so GSync would be nice, but I'd like the flexibility of a Freesync version.Also, I can envision that some people might prefer 27", and, of course that would be less expensive. But, these old eyes would have a very difficult time reading anything at 4k on a 27" monitor.
