Dell Premier Ordering Site

Dell needs to have a "reorder" option for past orders.  I have several staple products (ie.. printer toner) that I order every month and what a hassle it is to find the toner I need.   Right now I go to: Shop > Assessories & Peripherals > Printers, Ink and Toner > Color Laser > Model > Select Item > Order, done. Why not have an option within past orders and/or within your profile have a list of prevously ordered items with the "Order Again" option.    Future menus then would be:   Shop > Previous Ordered Items > Select Item > Order, Done.Better yet, also give customers an option of "automatic" reoccuring ordering and shipping.  Send this shipment every month or whatever the timeline the customer sets. My time becomes more efficient and Dell still gets a sale on a reoccuring order.  Customer satisfaction.

Cheapest 3D printer

My idea is to create a 3D printer using paper. There are two type of papers involved... thin and thick. The thin paper is to print items like origami. You can print a 3D folding plane to a 3D Japanese dinosaurs  origami. I'm sure all kids would love this.Using thicker paper an architect or engineer can print parts of building with ease. These prnted parts can then be attached together. It is much cheaper than using the current printer technology. This is my dream. Every house will have this soon.

Universal ink cartridges

As a leader in the personal computing arena, Dell should reach out to other computer and accessory manufacturers and develop a printer that will use the same ink cartridge, no matter the brand.  This would be similar to the consultations that lead cell phone manufacturers to adopt the micro-USB as a standard charger, no matter the brand of phone.

Printing from mobile devices to Dell products

Feb 25, 2012

Status: Partially Implemented

I'm very pleased with the purchase of a DELL 1350cnw (color laser network printer) for our home and small business needs.  However as more mobile devices become the norm, it would be beneficial for Dell to provide support for printing from these types of devices.HP, Canon, and Epson all have apps in Apple's App Store for iOS devices to print to those brands' networked printers.  Where is Dell's app? It's difficult for me to recommend Dell printers to business associates, friends and family with such a limitation, "...cannot print from your cool new iOS (or Android) device."  I'm more likely to recommend one of those other brands with wide selection of solutions for network printing across multiple devices and OSs.It's going to be critical in the future for Dell to support on these OS's and alternative devices soon.  Without it, fewer people will even consider Dell as a possible solution provider.  The Dell network printers support a multitude of print server protocols.  It should take minimal effort to code an app to check the local network (or even support VPN) for Dell printers and allow users to send files to it.Overall, this should be an easy and low cost solution for Dell to expand their customer base.  As the number of mobile devices start to overshadow the number of humans, Dell needs to capitalize on the opportunity.  It would be a great selling point on all Dell's networked printers, "Print directly from your iOS or Android device."Staus Update:  Please see paul_n's comment for further details.  Thank you for posting!

To compete with HP printers, partner with Xerox!

I've LONG admired the Tektronix line of COLOR printers, including their fast and more environmentally friendly SOLID INK printers. However, I'll take HP printers over any current DELL printer ANY DAY. In order to really compete with HP, I'd suggest Dell partner with Xerox and ESPECIALLY promote the SOLID INK line! I have always tended to be loyal to one company. My loyalty to Dell, however, has worn thin.

Out put tray should support input tray on Dell 5110CN printer

Jan 22, 2009

Status: Implemented

We bought a Dell 5110cn laser printer last year and the default input tray supports 500 pages.  Unfortunately, the output tray only supports 250 pages and for jobs larger than 250 pages, the printer pauses printing after it reaches 250.  It will then resume once the printed paper have been removed.  This is inconvenient and doesn't make sense.  I suggest that you build an output tray that will mimimally support the input tray amount. Alternative to Printer Ink: Laser burning

Dec 27, 2008

5 Votes

Status: Partially Implemented

Dell should make a printer that can print on paper without using ink. Instead the printer could have a laser that burns the text/photo onto paper. I'm not sure what color the laser will print but if the laser burns the paper it'll probably be black or brown. The printer should still include ink cartridges but when people print they should be able to choose laser or ink cartridge. The laser burning should not make the paper catch fire. It should work on normal paper.
