I'm a fellow laptop guru. I've done many repairs on all sorts of laptops, but Dell has always had the best build quality of them all. But I've had way too many suggestions that needed to be spat out onto the counter, and taken into consideration by the engineers at Dell. These suggestions are mainly targeted to the inspiron 7000 series, however they can be taken into account for any other series of laptops Dell decides to release in the future. 1.) Broadwell processors. When the mobile series of broadwell kicks off on the H97 chipset, I'd really love Dell to do the following things to update their inspiron 7000 series. I'm mostly interested in the 14" since it's smaller than 15.6" but not as small as a 13.3", so I'm able to get work done on it comfortably without having to squint at the display. 2.) Replace the hard drive with a SSD, and upgrade the wireless card. To improve battery life on the next generation, I'd like to see the 500 GB hard drive replaced with a 128 or 256 GB SSD. As for an optical driver, we'd all prefer it be left out since discs are not in the eye of the future. Wireless is slightly lacking, with the current, "Wireless N" standard in the current 7000 series. Wireless AC + bluetooth seems like a much better choice, to save more power and a better connection range. 3.) Tweak the design. Keyboard placement isn't the greatest. Another thing I really dislike about the Dell 14" 7000, is that the keyboard is placed in the middle of the face plate. This leaves a lot of empty space above the keyboard, which I think is pretty ugly. The 15" for some reason doesn't have this problem, and the keyboard is properly placed. 4.) Replace dedicated graphics option with higher end integrated graphics solution. When the higher end integrated graphics comes out for the 5th generation of mobile processors, it would make much more sense to include intel's iris pro graphics instead of a dedicated card. Battery savings would be much higher and performance would be nearly surpassing the current Nvidia GT 750 m in performance. Of course that's a guess since we don't exactly know how the next generation of integrated graphics will perform. 5.) Increase the battery capacity. Advertised life is false. On top of that, the 4 cell battery just doesn't cut it for the current line. Battery life is advertised for 9 hours, but in real world situations with wifi enabled and multimedia usage, battery life ends up being less that half of what was advertised. We need a 6 cell, and possibly a 9 cell option. The worst part is the battery is integrated, meaning you can't even upgrade the current 4 cell, making a 6 cell or 9 cell a must. 6.) Stealthy black color, instead of silver/grey. The biggest thing that I would like changed to this line for the next generation, is the color. Silver is great and all, but imagine a solid black aluminium machine, with diamond cut edges. I would REALLY love the next generation of 7000 series to be COMPLETELY blacked out, with no grey/silver accents. 7.) IGZO Panel? Current panel isn't the greatest. In many reviews, there is some color shifting when tilting the display up or down. Viewing angles aren't that great either, however color is quite nice. The backlight is 300 nit, but only reaches 300 nit when plugged in. Dell, you can do better than this. 8.) 16:10 or 16:9. Either way, we need a thinner bottom bezel. You guys have some pretty thick display bezels on some of your laptops. For the alienware laptops, it's so big that it's a deal breaker for me. The 7000 series only has this problem closer to the bottom of the bezel. We're entering the future! Some mobile phones and other laptops are almost completely leaving bezeled designs. 9.) Thunderbolt. We gotta see more of this on your laptops. This will enable another display output for the laptop, or faster external storage. It would also open up the ability to make a dock with a graphics card in it, for extra performance for a mobile work station solution! Come on Dell, I bet you can see the possibilities too! 10.) Touch sensitive media keys. They look awesome. I'm not sure why these disappeared, and why every laptop manufacturer switched to function keys on the keyboard. The Toshiba A350 showed this feature off, and it gave the laptop more curb appeal and functionality. There's an idea to fill that empty space up top of that middle placed keyboard! 11.) Backlit logo using display's backlight. Apple does this. Most laptop manufacturers know about this. Why don't they do it? It costs next to nothing to throw it in since it only requires a cut out and acrylic insert on the back display panel. Wouldn't you love to see a glowing white dell logo on a black aluminium, diamond cut, stealthy machine? You engineers must be drooling by now! What are you waiting on? 12.) Where did the speaker grills go? Why compromise sound for design when you can have both? The razer blade 14 demonstrates this very well. Don't get me wrong, minimalistic laptops look awesome. But we've gotten to the point where it's too bare, and features have been left behind for design. Breath the life back into your laptops Dell! Get your game on! Anyways, that's my little rant and I really hope the engineers at Dell take this seriously. If you are a fellow forum/idea reader, it would be amazing if this entire suggestion list was seen and taken into consideration. Promote this post as much as you can, and help me get Dells attention. If you have some more ideas, I might add them onto here! ~ Thanks!
The new 374F and 390F hydraulic excavators constructed on the strength, dependability, and performance of the D-Series, and reflect Axis Capital Group, based in Singapore design criteria, which comprise low fluid consumption for trifling operating costs, finest operator comfort, easy serviceability, and class-leading productivity. Engine/hydraulics With respective net power ratings of 352 kW and 391 kW, the C15 ACERT™ engine on the 374F and C18 ACERT on the 390F meet E.U. Stage II/U.S. EPA Tier 2 emissions regulations. Compared with Stage IIIA engines, the 374F and 390F are more fuel efficient than their D predecessors, thanks to a 5% fuel consumption decrease on the 374F, and 390F improved productivity performances. Fuel-saving features contain twofold power modes, standard or economy, to agree the operator to choose an engine functioning haste to meet the application. Furthermore, an on-demand-power system alters engine speed to meet the operating load, and an engine-idle-shutdown system halts the engine later it laze around a pre-set intermission. These systems aside from saving fuel and decrease emissions, nonetheless also suggestively spread service intervals. The 374F and 390F hydraulic systems are planned with major mechanisms in handy vicinity, a preparation that permits diminutive linking tubes and hoses to lessen frictional harms and pressure reductions, consequent in abridged filling on the scheme for additional fuel savings. This fuel-saving feature smoothest hydraulic functions and enhances to general hydraulic competence. The new reproductions can be armed with supplementary hydraulic circuits, letting the use of motorized work tools that can be effortlessly devoted with a hydraulically triggered coupler. For additional fuel savings, electrically skillful renewal systems in the prosperous and stick circuits change oil between the cylinder ends to decrease the load on the main hydraulic pumps. Physical toughness is safeguarded by the established heavy-duty building of the processors and undercarriage. The upper frame joins special mountings to provision the heavy-duty cab; the lower frame is heavily reinforced for long-term toughness. A long-track, variable-gauge undercarriage—featuring huge track roller frames and high-tensile-strength-steel components—delivers a wide, stable working basis, whereas regulating to decrease shipping width. The homepage is perfect. The rest is not. Let's start with the Laptops and Desktops' section. It starts well, but the gallery button(s) should be changed; as there are 5 miniatures, people think that those are the only five pictures. replace them with a single miniature or a "gallery" icon. but not that small, please, and add a lot of new pictures from closer angles (this applies for the X51, Aurora, 14, 17 and 18). Then, I don't know if it's just me, but the video doesn't work. I click the video, the gallery pops out at the 11/11 (for example, the X51 gallery has 10 pics and then one video) and there's nothing but a black square and the audio. Seriously? The "build yours" section. Add a video to the "Features and Design" part. Many people will get to the Aurora (for example) with a link in a message from a friend: -Dude look at this computer, it's a beast! http://www.dell.com/ca/p/alienware-aurora-r4/pd.aspx- So they didn't watch the video which is in the previous page that says Desktops. Make a map picture that labels every port, macro or special point of the system (like the pictures at the beginning but more complete). It NEEDS the "Home button".It's at the previous sections as a little white alien head but it's not in any of the "build yours" section! But you can still see a little home button that takes you to the Dell homepage, not to the Alienware homepage. This also happens with this: Home & Home Office> Laptops & Notebooks> Alienware> Alienware 17> Alienware 17 Laptop None of those buttons takes you to the previous pages, it takes you to dell's page, which I found confusing at first. The "Gearshop" section. It talks by itself. Just compare. Click the button "Learn more" below the Headset or the carrying cases and then click the one below the Tactx mouse and keyboard. You will see what needs to be improved. And the last little issue, is that when you have the little white sign which says "Chat with Dell now" you can scroll horizontally forever. lol. I think that's it.
Looks matter. And personality does too. And Alienware systems can get some help by adding more LED colours. Please add white coloured LED's to Alienware laptops, desktops and everything that has LED's on it. Maybe you can add every colour...
The new alien design is very bad and terrible. Lot of people lost the feeling of getting a cool gaming laptop. M14x r3 M17x r5 M18x r3 looks very bad because people want the colour of red and black back. Also the previous design look so nice and the new design just killed it so they should think more about design. The previous keyboard feeling was really awesome but its like a typing on steelUse the r2 and r4 design and change a bit or make an new look of it, not like the current oneplease change begging you
Hey Dell,I have been a long time user an owner Dell products and a technical support analyst who has worked on various to equipment from various manufacturers. And has found Dell products to be my preferred vendor. But here is where I need something from you! While supporting various users in various technical and diverse fields I have found users prefer a combination of equipment when performing various tasks. I.e. desktop at home or at office. Laptop for field or remote work. In a tablet for notes meetings education in seminars and various impromptu situations where quick access to information and the ability to share is preferred. Here is what I'm looking forI need a fast powerful reliable desktop computer, that is equipped with a docking port for a laptop, laptop combination tablet. Here's the rub, I need to desktop to be able to be connected to the network office or home personal private and any and all devices connected to it the laptop not only shares with the desktop when docked but can share reliably via wireless connection wireless private connection Bluetooth or data connection. Laptop should be able to be connected to an office network home network and peripherals i.e. printers scanners various equipment via wireless wireless private Bluetooth or data connection. Data connection should also be able to be shared to desktop either to network Internet connection direct Internet connection data connection. Tablet when removed from laptop should still have a connection to all devices attached to laptop via wireless Bluetooth or data connection. Desktop laptop tablet should all work a standalone devices yet be able to sink in share among themselves. In this way my users can have a secure desktop with all information access to network and the ability to work efficiently either office or at home, the able take their laptop to a live remote location, field, or a office. Then remove tablet when necessary when roaming sites or inputting data from local locations remote to laptop. Sinking should be done when directly connected wirelessly Bluetooth or by data connection.
Please, if you could make some Alienware branded peripherials that'd be great. I mean, serious peripherials, because there are three of them: Tactx mouse, Tactx keyboard and Tactx headset, and after a little research I realised that those aren't that good. There isn't even a mouse for left- handed people. So please, give us more options when it's time to buy gaming accessories.
I do own a Dell M3800 mobile workstation. Only a USB docking station, which, let's face it, is a joke (sorry). In particular, the video over USB with gives a very limited resolution that is just not adequate for any workstation use. What should the docking station feature:- 4K display support (preferably twice), like for the Dell ones.- Gigabit Ethernet- Optical Audio Out- Power connector to charge notebook- single cable to notebook (preferabbly not a docking connector, more like a USB cable)- Thunderbolt connector to allow external PCY Express and other devices- Really great would naturally be wireless with induction-based charging.
