Gulftainer, a privately owned, independent terminal operating and logistics company, recorded an impressive eight per cent growth in container volume in 2014, achieving a total of 6.4 million twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEUs) across its global portfolio.   In a year defined by international expansion and investments in new infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, Gulftainer recorded robust growth across its entire terminal portfolio.   Iain Rawlinson, Group Commercial Director of Gulftainer said: “The positive growth recorded by Gulftainer across its terminals globally underlines the confidence of our partners in our ability to meet their requirements efficiently. Our extensive network and technological expertise are the strengths that have enabled us to expand our footprint to new locations. We continuously invest in enhancing our infrastructure, thus boosting reliability, operational efficiency and productivity.”   He added: “The growth in volume achieved throughout our terminals is strong testament to the expertise and dedication of our employees and the strong productivity levels we are able to achieve on a consistent basis. In the dynamic global trade routes linking Asia and Europe, our terminals today play an increasingly significant role. Even as we expand and grow our business, we also remain committed to the communities we serve in by creating new jobs and supporting the domestic economy.”   In global markets, Gulftainer’s Saudi terminals recorded impressive growth with Northern Container Terminal accounting for 1.9 million TEUs, sustaining previous-year trends, while Jubail Container Terminal (JCT) noted a growth of 22 per cent to over 396,000 TEUs. The total volume at the Saudi terminals was over 2.29 million TEUs.   Gulftainer’s Umm Qasr terminal also accomplished a significant growth of 46 per cent in 2014, while the Recife terminal in Brazil marked a growth in volume of 7 per cent.   Gulftainer’s UAE terminals recorded a total volume of 3.8 million TEUs in line with the all-round growth in business. The company marked another significant milestone, with the Sharjah Container Terminal (SCT) surpassing 400,000 TEUs in annual throughput for the very first time. Operations at SCT were energised by the positive growth in global trade and the arrival of new services, such as UASC’s Gulf India Service (GIS1), which now connects Sharjah with Sohar in Oman, Mundra in India and Karachi in Pakistan. The addition of this service represented a significant development for Sharjah and boosted the national carrier’s volumes through SCT last year.   The only fully fledged operational container terminal in the UAE located outside the Strait of Hormuz, Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) has today emerged as one of the most important transshipment hubs for the Arabian Gulf, the Indian Sub-continent, the Gulf of Oman and the East African markets.   Further strengthening the operations at KCT, Gulftainer has received and commissioned new state-of-the-art Ship to Shore (STS) and Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes that will further increase overall performance and productivity. This enhanced infrastructure marks an investment of over US$60 million.   Gulftainer has set an ambitious target to triple the volume over the next decade through organic growth across existing businesses, exploring green field opportunities and potential M&A activities.

Alienware 15 bios supporting both 240 watt as well as 180 watt solutions, and custom fan profile selection

As has been pointed out by many alienware users , alienware 15 throttles the CPU regardless whether 240 watt or 180 watt PSU is used. I would like to propose that we get a bios update which allows us to select if we are using 180 watt(hybrid power enabled) or 240 watt(hybrid power disabled), whilst disabling any form of throttling arising due to power contraints. and custom fan profile selection (silent, moderate , full speed) as even hwinfo doesnt provide an option to run fans at full speed (the max speed in hwinfo is less than the actual max speed(which happens during bios update)) to regulate thermal throttling.

As you may know, mini itx platforms now can host powerful CPUs. This is because of the  ASRock X99E-ITX can support 18 core processors such as the Intel Xeon E5-2699 V3 or the 6 core Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E, for instance. There is also Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3 Haswell-EP 3.5GHz 6 x 256 KB L2 Cache 15MB L3 Cache LGA 2011-3 140W Server Processor BX80644E51650V3 for $599, which is nice because you can you ECC ram.I think Alienware or dell should offer a very small mini itx pc that focuses on overclocking and efficicent design with Fast access traditional hard drives and DDR4 ram.I think dell should also look to material science to formulate better heatsink material for cooling cpus.

License Management system

PROBLEM REPORT=============== Most companies use DELL laptops and desktops for their organization with many licensed software. And most of the expensive software has floating license system and organizations do face issue with license overflow. The most common reason is leaving license to ideal state. This affects companies’ productivity and monetary benefits   SUGGESTION ============ A Proprietary system driver that can well maintain the organization floating license during ideal state of the user system and release then add to the license pool. This could be a separate DELL utility driver which can be sold to the customers for handling the issue.

Improve the new Inspiron 15 500 series (2015)

The new Inspiron 15 5000 series looks sleek and comes at a decent price, but fails at some basics. Most people do not want optical drives on laptops nowadays, so why have it in a model that is meant to be as cheap as possible while offering good specifications? It would make more sense to ditch the optical drive and instead offer a FullHD screen as standard. By doing this, Dell will be leading the way to a higher resolution future and leave other brands less desirable with their low resolution screens. I have seen the bulk prices for HD screens vs. decent FullHD screens, and I just cannot justify skimping here while at the same time offering an optical drive. Highlight the Dell external optical drive for all laptop models instead, so customers who really want to use discs can see the option. The room saved by ditching the optical drive could be used to optimize cooling, add a few extra ports or preferably: both.Customers want sleek and portable devices with low noise levels and good battery life. Optical drives are not as desirable as they once were, and Dell needs to realize that sooner rather than later.
