Hi AllI purchased a DELL Inspiron 1510 Laptop in year 2010. I was bit apprehensive of choosing DELL at the first instance as there were many brands available and i was unaware of Service quality of DELL.The Laptop i purchased got damaged within a week as the screen was damaged while handling, i broke down with fear that i lost all my money and talked to customer care person, fortunately i took 3 years complete accidental cover for my laptop. To my amaze, the laptop screen was replaced within a week, and it was my first good experience with DELL. Had it been other supplier must have either denied or deferred stating that this things are not covered, or you have to pay this or so. Last 3 years of experience has changed my view of DELL, now i am deadly fan of DELL equipments.I feel myself lucky that i purchased DELL laptop. Hope to get service from DELL in ensuing years as well as i got in past yearsRegards

should Dell IdeastromCommunity install Mail box function? So the community members can also communicate with each other.

as we know that when searching for an information in google it provides a lots of links to look in actually a few websites provide correct information near 80% websites do not contain the right information about,my idea is to provide an information meter for each website that it contains that much % of matter,by this we can save time. actually lot of people dont know which websites provide much information to their needs.

I think your community site can have a Disqus or livefyre installed to make it easier for users to integrate their social profile and comment rather than having to create a new account altogether.

Would anyone be interested if Dell decided to create a section in the Dell community for users to blog about Dell and technology in general? We have many well spoken members of the Dell Community that I would love to see post articles on such a site. I'm sure it would only be users selected by Dell so it wouldn't be littered with spam though. Feel free to nominate users in the comments. There could even be some point/counter point discussions on hot topics like windows vs linux.

When Dell finds an idea that it feels needs further investigation they should create a focus group to gather more information from us. One option is the Dell Forums has the ability to create a specialized forum that only certain users can access when given permission. This would allow Dell to talk to people under a NDA (non disclosure agreement) which would protect Dell so they can be more open with the group. Every idea they speak about could have a different set of members to get more people involved if they wanted. Another option is to use a different site or a special access portion of IdeaStorm. I don't think the software has the capability to create a subsection but who knows. The site does have 2 names though dellIdeastorm and ideastorm so perhaps make one site special access and the other full access. NDA would be needed for each participating member of course. I'm just looking for a way for us to better interact with Dell that they feel comfortable with. Feel free to leave comments with what you would like to see happen or even nominate users you feel would be appropriate for focus groups. My step-son is leaving for Iraq in January. His mom can't afford a laptop for him and neither can I, but I thought it could be done if everyone in the family could contribute via a site, then when there was enough, you could ship him a laptop! This could be a great "community" PR thing for Dell -- Set up a website, soldiers could register -- somehow they are qualified, then anyone could go and give $5 to a few people. When the solider gets their laptop, they could receive a list of email addresses of the contributors if the contributors cared to share it -- then they could be pen pals too. Status Update: Please see richard_m's comment for further details. Thanks for posting the idea!

I like the concept of the Storm Session / IdeaJam, however this part of the site seems to have been dead for a while. I seems that it would benefit Dell, in terms of getting people to "focus" their creative energy on a set of defined constraints as opposed to just opening up to virtually any idea at once. There also is a definite problem when it comes to promoting the fact that a Storm Session in progress or about to start. I cam about this one quite by chance. You have my email address, drop me a note a few days before a Session starts and I bet you will get more participation. Thanks for listening. Status update: This idea has been changed to Partially Implemented. We have several storm sessions set up for the near future and are working to improve the promoting of them via social media and Dell Community sites rather than email. Thanks to robgtx for the submission.
