Ability to disable usage of battery of a laptop in office when connected to Docking station

HI,I would like to present an idea in which if a software is developed which can actually disable the usage of battery when connected to the docking station and connect the laptop to a DC power supply as soon as you unplug the diocking station the battery should come up, it can gradually increase the battery life and also will avoid overcharging of Battery hence enhancing the battery life of laptop.

Alienware: Enhanced / Customizable Fan Control
It would be great to see user customization for fan controls offered in the Alienware Command Center. Please consider this in an updated version of AWCC, as it would be greatly appreciated. This would eliminate the need for customers to use third-party utilities such as HWiNFO64 for this purpose. Some of the competitors offer this feature and this would be an added-value enhancement for Alienware customers, especially the Alienware laptop owners.

Simple idea but possible worth something.... Use your face as your password. Similar to how Xbox Connect can sign in using just face structure. Sit in front of computer. Computer: "sit still please" Computer: "Welcome User ****" Computer: "Signing in your personal settings" This way users wont have to worry about resetting passwords or forgetting passwords... Offer typing passwords as override.

Return to using the colored circles around the speaker and microphone ports on the AIO.
The Logitech headset I purchased to use with Dragon, came equiped with a two ended plug. They are color coded, green for speaker and pink for microphone. The plug in`s on the side of the AIO`s, don`t have the color disc`s around them and it is hard to see the little icons.The average consumer will have to turn the AIO around to see the icons and plug in their headset. If Dell could put those colored disc`s around the ports, we would have a much easier time using Dragon.

The Windows COA is done away with and a product key is hidden within the systems BIOS. Reinstallation media will detect the product key, select the correct version of Windows 8 and activate online once installed. For systems that don't have a product key the media will ask for a product key or tell the user their system doesn't have a valid product key. The problem is that Microsoft are implementing insane OEM media policies. Dell and Microsoft are extremely reluctant to ship media out to customers. Reworded Dell because of Microsoft re extremely reluctant to ship media out to customers. The reinstallation DVD is mandatory to fix an an assortment of problems. These are all documented in my Windows Reinstallation Guide and Related Wikies: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/t/19480753.aspx The situation in Europe or outside the US is in particular bad and is mentioned in great detail here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/4677/t/19476992.aspx These insane OEM Media Reduction/Anti-Piracy/Green policies are completely insane and will only serve to increase piracy. If users cannot get media to install many will look to piracy, period. Dell DataSafe media must be created by the user and many users only look for media when they run into an issue. Often users have troubles making media and often the created media doesn't work. The media created by DataSafe cannot be used for clean installation or a StartUp repair. Even those customers that are successful in requesting reinstallation media must wait for a few days to have it shipped out meaning several days of wait and of unecessary system downtime. A service like My Dell Downloads cannot be used as the system must be registered and a valid OS must be installed in order to register. An infinite loop will occur for one with a broken hard drive.... A direct download option must be made available and one that must be available directly on another system alongside with an easy means of making a botoable USB stick or DVD. Users can be prompted to get it from Microsoft and to fill in a form with their email or alternatively from Dell. If its a blank image from Microsoft, it would be good if Dell included a System utility on the Drivers and Downloads page to restore the OEM customisation/branding/themes.

When ordering with Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013, it never somes with 2013 installed. You follow what it says to do on the License packet but the Dell Software Installation Guide instruction are not good. It says to click here for Office 2013 but there is no link to click. This takes time to do and then you have to download the software to get it installed. Please someone give some idea on what to do here.Thanks.

Preset the microphone on MaxAudio 3 on the AIO 2330 in the factory.
I downloaded Dragon software and purchased a new headset. I had good sound but no microphone. Trying to find the problem, I opened the MaxxAudio 3 control panel and discovered that the microphone boost levels were set at 0db`s. The recording levels were very low also.When the consumer orders Dragon, the factory needs to change the settings so the software works out of the box. The correct settings are recording level on high, and microphone boost set at +30db.Not all consumers are going to know what to change to make their software work.

An increasing amount of homes now have connectivity to the internet, and share their internet within their own home. With the increase in numbers of "Wireless utilities" such as mobiles, printers, HDD's, stereo's, fridges, and other appliances, there is a gap in the power market where I think my product could fit in. I recently swapped my energy supplier and was sent a free gift. The gift was a home energy monitor and proved very useful. With a clip around my incoming power supply (Near fuse box) and a USB charged display I could see exactly how much power my home was consuming at all times. The product I would like to invent and brainstorm is simple. It is a pass-through plug socket. The device would be plugged into a socket, and an appliance will then be plugged into the invention. No need for it to be oversized should be about the same size as a timer plug. The invention will have the following abilities plugged in:1. A Micro-USB Socket on the bottom (Used to plug into a laptop/Computer for programming of Wi-Fi network presets)2. An Ammeter (Used to digitally record the power useage through the device)3. A Wireless antenna (Used to transmit data to the wireless router and recieve instruction)4. A Flow switch (Remotely or locally controlled to enable/disbale power throughput)5. A small display (LCD) The product is made of 3 parts:1. The socket previously mentioned2. The software to be described (free downloadable)3. A Mobile App (Free downloadable)Sockets are the only thing purchasable and can be purchased individually or in packs of differing quanities. For example A house owner buys 4 sockets (a starter pack with mains clip and USB lead included). He wraps the clip around his mains input exactly like the ones you recieve from British gas etc. He then chooses 4 appliances he would like to monitor/control. He chooses:1. His Fridge2. His pond3. A living room lamp4. His childs TV.He then downloads (free) the configuration and control software available for the product. On his mobile he downloads a similar more compact version of the software as an app. He then plugs via USB the first of his sockets into his computer. Using the software he is prompted to pick his Wi-Fi network (being picked up by the USB powered socket) and enter his network key. The socket is then greeted on the network and settings are saved to a small memory within the socket. It is allocated a unique id corresponding to the network such as Socket<serial number>. On completion of this he repeats the steps for all 4 sockets.He then places his sockets in situ. On his computer he can now see with the program, all of his sockets readings as they work. Each of the sockets recieves its power from the outlet they are plugged into so require no batteries. They are beaming out constant ammeter info onto the pre-programmed network for their own usage which is picked up by the computer with loaded software on that network (a simple pairing). The software can now be used to monitor the total power useage (by the clip on the mains emitting wi-fi ammeter info) and all sockets within Wi-Fi range. This can be displayed and monitored with lots and lots of tools as it is all read on his personal PC.Using the software he can also remotely turn on/off the socket. This is brilliant for the kids TV at bedtime (no more sneaking the TV on whilst mum and dad arn't watching). The pond has also been programmed using the software to work on a timer. Coming on at 9:00am and off at 6:00pm (except sunday). That is how flexible the software possibilites are.Also, if the man decides to go on holiday he can remotely turn on or off his living room lamp using his mobile app, and an external encrypted port into his wi-fi router protected by username and password. All of this and still monitoring the useage of his fridge in comparison to other fridges measured by other users of the software all over the world. Brilliant for encouraging true power reading consumer tests when appliances can be named on the software eg.Socket 1 = "Samsung EPL500C 42"HDTV". Does it really run at only 200W in the average home. Data can be collected and collated centrally using the internet connection connected to the PC or mobile.Lastly is the ability to expenentually expand on the power monitoring. More sockets can be purchased at any time and just be programmed to join the network. With no maximum capacity and ever shrinking technology, the scope is available to incorporate this product smaller and smaller into different designs and styles to suit many different houses and tastes.Please let me know if this has made you think. An application that reads instructions and directions out loud

I would love to see an application that will verbally give step by step directions on anything. I am terrible, because of patience, at following instructions. The application would allow you to punch in the manual number and it would read a loud step by step instructions. This would include anything from a video game to putting a bed together. I know this would make my life easier as I am better at following along verbally than trying to read and interpret things. Thanks.
