Cloud computing device

Create a device that will help move all laptop or desktop computer data and software to the cloud. This device will then be the window to the cloud. It will replace desktops, laptops and notebooks.Currently there is no one in the space that facilitates the millioms of computer users to the cloud. There is no longer any need for stand alone computers, except then the network is down.I want to to make this able to use the Dell wireless network.Dell should create the cloud environment to support the Dell cloud.Dell could make agreements with suppliers to provide and network or software necessary.Buy it not build it, or negotiate for it.

Mobility - built in SIM card slot for over the air connectivity

I bought a Dell XPS 14 last year and while exploring it found a SIM slot in the battery compartment. I was quite impressed and immediately inserted my 3G enabled SIM hoping to get online. Unfortunately after spending hours of figuring out if there was any application that would start the connection I finally called up Dell support and found out that the SIM slot is vestigial and has not real utility. The question is why not activate the SIM slot through an OS / driver update so the laptop becomes even more powerpacked and conpact(without the need to have an external dongle for internet connectivity)

Fast wireless transmission

I am a student in informatics, and I have this one problem. When I need to send documents, installation programs,  fast to anyone,Even when you sit next to him. I always need to send it by email, or dropbox, usb, or windows network folder. But when you are using Windows, Mac and Linux it is harder to do this.I was thinking of a simple program that starts up fast! and lets you select a computer and send a file/group of files, directly to their pc/'s using the pc's network card or router when the pc's are connected to a router, the only thing they need to right click file send to;/NAME/ and accept the file/s + name of sender. This was my idea, and I hope you can use this.Erik.v.e

Dell XPS 12 Power Cord - Why have it be unique from other laptops? Why no 12V power adapter?

I'd like to see you standardize on a power cord system across your platforms.  I had an XPS 1210 and was able to carry my accessories forward to my Latitude e4310.  The power type is PA-12 compatible.  This eliminates me needing to buy all new power cords to support my new device.   Also, why do you not offer a 12v compatible power supply?  I just shake my head at how much opportunity is being left on the table when you're products are so awesome.  I wanted to buy in October, but will continue to wait until you guys get it together over there. I'd love to speak with someone at Dell about these limitations/issues from a technical perspective.  If the device can't be powered while in the car and doesn't have WWAN, it is not a mobile enabled device.  It seems so counter intuitive to build the best and hottest mobile laptop and not follow through.   dootndo2

Built-In Infared Slave For Laptops and Tablets

Create a built-in infared slave and include an infared transmitter/mini router with laptop computers.  This would allow people traveling to quickly set up a secure wireless internet connection in their hotel room or an airport terminal in a compact and easy to use format.  Similar technology is used via a USB adaptor to connect to cell phones, using an integrated system would provide for much more efficient speed of data and lead to a more user friendly experience.

Item-Locator System(ILS)

"Item-Locator System"(ILS)   This system will be very useful to items that we do not want to get stolen or lost. It's like a very tiny GPS shall be installed into a valuable item together with a unique id number. The unique id number will then be installed into a smartphone app which when that number is selected, the app will automatically trace the location of the item. Everytime the user or the item moves, the data on the screen changes. This is so as to provide accurate location of where the item is currently.   example interface: __________________________________ | ^^^^^ | | Tallahassee,Florida USA | | 550 m North | ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

problem in vostro laptop with Wifi

vostro laptop 3560 and some other laptop basily its vostro laptop most of the series that I have used, the vostro 3560 uses DW1704 WLAN card, and has major speed/signal drops every year cusomter flood community site with the same and dell does not provide fix for it.happnes only on N -routers .Tech support not known why it happens only send part replacement but does not provide fix before launching the product in market. I would recommend dell to test the WLAN card in N mode and on N router which are used in home/office router, before launching the product adn puttin the cusomter into inconvinence. Major Problem in WiFi: Speed/signal drop like 5.5mbps to 11mbps and the 27mbps then 130mbps,keeps fluctuating (WLAN set to " N " mode) or there would be weak signal comparend to other brand.this issue not seen in atheros WLAN card.  Why I set in N mode is to get the best connectivity and speed that routers transmitt on N standard. thats is 150mbps. When the laptop wakes from sleep mode takes longer time to connect back compared to any other brand of laptops avilable in market, again tech support not aware of this, and blam saying pirated os or os problem when its a clear thing to say driver fix need to be provided
