The idea that I have is to make the siutation less innocuous; my computer is currently being fixed by Dell, and I am on a Windows computer of a different manufacturer, my minimal. I know I do not like apple. I also know that there is editing of metadata by governing authoritiess, because why wouldn't there be. So my quest to understand this penumbra is less than visceral. I hope this idea generates a few good things that prior to my posting, is less pervasive yet more understood (by me, and those interested in predication). Therefore, this idea here is being edited as I write this message, yet I have no way to prove it.

Mini Network Port standard for UltraBooks

Demand is ever increasing for smaller, lighter, more portable productivity devices. For many companies with a firm-wide SOE and security measures there are certain minimum requirements for any new corporate device - a network port (for network PXE builds); TPM (for encryption); vPro (for network management). Unfortunately these 'IT' requirements are often in conflict with the requirements of the end users who want to do away with any extra components for the purpose of weight and portability.TPM and vPro should not be too difficult to implement on an ultra portable device. The network port is the tricky part due to the antiquated bulky design of the connection. However the mobile phone industry has found a way to overcome this for data and power requirements and I see no reason why the portable computer market can't follow suit.I propose a mini-network port standard is defined for laptops with a reasonably priced and commonly available dongle a la USB mini -> USB micro.  This mini network port has a one-to-one connection for each of the CAT5/CAT6 wires, and the dongle simply upsizes these to a standard LAN port.The time has come for genuine UltraBooks for the enterprise!

Improvement to the Network Switch MOUNTING BRACKET?

The current network switch mounting bracket has 2 holes to attach it to the rack.  I propose that we make the mounting bracket with one hole on top and one OPEN hole (like a lowercase N) on the bottom to make the installation process easier.  The installer would drive the bottom screws in loosely and then hook the switch on to those screws and then drive the top screws to secure the switch to the rack and finally tighten the bottom screws to completely secure the switch. This would make the installation far easier and safer.

As Dell shapes up to become the industry leader within the End to End technology solutions space, it will be a good idea to have a complete package that helps new and emerging business to not only plan for their technology needs but also to procure best in class products and solutions at most reasonable price points.Dell could partner with these new businesses to support them as their  technology consultant, available as and when they have a need.The package for new businesses would comprise :1. Free diagnostic tool (available on Dell.com as well as through apps on iOS and Android) Take the inputs from researching new customers, in terms of revenue, manpower, # of customers etc Tell the businesses what are the essential technology products/solutions that they would need (eg. Desktops, Storage, Servers etc.) Calculate the best price that could be offered to that new business, if all the products and solutions are bought together (Dell can use real-time custom pricing) 2. Financial options Offer from the DFS, to support these startups financially Payment options could be kept flexible Long term contract of exclusivity (buying only Dell products), would graduate these new customers to the 'Loyalty Emerging class' level; this new class of customers can be offered better discounts, superior support services as Dell would want to invest in their dreams 3. Sales support and Tech guidance An exclusive sales associate would help these new businesses close the deal with Dell Additionally, follow up from Dell would provide guidance on setting these products/solutions up Virtual assistant tools would be provided to these new businesses, to trouble shoot 24x7 Helpline support email ids/ contact number to be provided to these new customers for first 6 months Am sure this is going to be a hit amongst all the new businesses. After all, who would not want a one-stop shop for all the technology needs of his/her new venture.

System Inbuilt Dongle

Hi Team,Your company can offer laptops, computors & tablets with "Inbulilt Dongle", so that customer need not to purchase external Dongle for internet usage. It will help the customers to get ease, ready to use any time and switch to any service providers. If you implement this Idea, it will increase the sales and also customer likes it.

I Hate the Display Port

I Hate the Display Port, but I loved the Radeon HD 6350, why... Out of the box the Radeon HD comes with both VGA and DVI adapters that allow for dual screen use. No guessing needed, no $30 extra parts to buy, no need to purchase a new video card with a brand new computer, no longer one is working with a dongle the other is working straight. No more mixing one screen is on DVI one is on VGA or one on DVI one on HDMI.Everything included up and running dual screens out of the box.It shocks me that with all the complaints I have heard from colleagues that this has not been addressed yet. Why is this not the norm and the people that want some insane resolution for graphic design choosing a video card that has crazy capability.One of the hardware designers need to bring to the table to stop nickel and diming the customers and be a hero to the PC purchasing community and to the Dell Rep community that have to hear these complaints all day and come up with either a new card, or find a way to get the old card to work with the new optiplexs and precisions.Before you work on the next big complicated thing, get the simple little stuff right.Also the display port to VGA is poor at best and flakes out a lot.

Enhanced Bluetooth Range

I remain disappointed with Bluetooth range offered on even the high end laptops (Precision M6400/6500).  I have tried both the Dell 365 and 370 internal modules in the same operating environment as several commercial USB modules and find the internal modules afford less than half the range of the external variety.  Right now my limit when using the internal module is roughly 10 feet and I know of several industrial modules that provide a range of 400-500 feet. Please figure out how to boost RF range on your machines.
