Dell should have a super portable laptop that is not so stripped down its a complete compromise. A minimum of a 14" screen, ultra thin, dvd burner, option for blue-ray, good memory, 80GB+ hdd, Intel duo and built in bluetooth and wireless. Now thats a laptop I would buy. Please!!! I would love to see a tablet that offered extendable feet like that on a keyboard to prop up a tablet to a better writing angle. Just about everyone I know with a tablet, while in slate mode, props there tablet up with books, or if me, my wallet because the leather of the wallet keeps the tablet from sliding. This is a feature I would think all in the tablet world appreciate even though it is something we easily forgoe. I don't think it would be too difficult to do that. Having the slate at an angle, too, helps with glare from overhead lights considerably. Propping my slate made a world of difference for me between classes and conference rooms . Plus, it is a more comfortable writing position.-Sass Status Update - This idea has been Implemented in the XPS 18 tablet. The feet can prop the tablet into a comfortable typing position or for easier viewing. Thank you for posting.

I know I voted for no additional software on dell computer but, please, for people who will choose to keep their softwares, add DellConnect in the bundle. As tech support, sometimes it takes more time to download / find it than resolving the issue. For people who doesn't know this software, it's a remote control used by dell support (like vnc, pc anywhere, ...) very usefull when a broadband connection is avaliable. Thanks for voting and helping us to fix grandma's computers ! Status Update As of May 1, 2008, Dell systems will have DellConnect pre-installed.

For years the trend was to make cell phones smaller and smaller. With the evolution to smart phones screen sizes have grown but it is still difficult to use due to all the scrolling and zooming to view the web and other functions. Dell should do a little research and find out just how large they can make a phone and still have it held comfortably in the palm of the average person's hand. I would bet that Dell could add at least and inch to the screen. Then Dell should devote as much space as they possibly can to the touch screen. While this will not eliminate the need to scroll and zoom it will lessen the need. Status Update Please check out the Streak

On August 12th Dell executives from around the world unveil a new generation of Dell mobility products that will re-invent the way people do business. http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080807/20080807006301.html?.v=1 Can you please post some video of the event that night for those of us who cannot attend. I know there is a sign up for media streaming http://www.visualwebcaster.com/event.asp?id=50463 but some people will not be able to watch at that time due to work or other issues. Also remember that home users may also be interested in some of these products. Status Update Please see Vida_K's comment below

!!! Give us an "easy remote care edition" !!! I 'm not a professional user but I care for my parents computers. Usually I come over every two or three weeks and fix up something. But in between... I have tried "Windows Remote Desktop". It doesn't work! two WLAN-Routers with dynamic IPs, integrated hardwarefirewalls and lousy configurated software firewalls are two much. (Skype has no problems at all) And helping them without seeing what they see and click is very annoying. !!! Give us an "easy remote care edition" !!! Steps: 1. "Hi Mom, just press the big red icon in the middle of the screen, so I can take over your dell-computer!" The red button (and the software) should be preinstalled. 2. I start the improved remote desktop with the unique file created on my parents computer. (the unique file will make sure no one else can access the computer) Make this foolproof! No router problem, No firewall problems. No problems with dynamic IPs! (Mom, could you tell me your IP?) No ports to be opened! (How should I explain that to my mom?) There are a lot of people that help friends or relatives with their computer issues and often they are the ones asked for assistance when buying a new computer.
