No it is official, all new-generation consoles -- Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U are use AMD internals. It is also time for laptop manufacturers to switch from Nvidia to AMD graphics for efficient gaming! Put the newest generation AMD graphics near Intel CPUs, while in smaller laptops (12-14") use the newest AMD APUs, such as A10-5750M and A10-5757M. Do not do reverse; A10-5750M only in monstreous 15" and 17" laptops, because that does not make sense!!! A10-5750M and A10-5757M must be in 12-14" laptops, 15-17'' Intel + AMD graphics! That how easy and logical to make succesfull laptops! if you do, than there is still good chance to catch up. Please do not sink further with bad internal choice!!!

Ok so some let's say top gaming laptops can have liquid cooling system which efficiently could be much better than air one so processor/main board/graphic card could be overclocked more without risking overheat... This should include small tank/processor, graphic card and main board should be built in water slide and some small fan to push heat that cooling liquid absorbed. I don't tell that will be cheap system and only for laptop 15,6 or bigger...Gaming laptops aren't being bought by beginners so completion fluids shouldn't be hard. Only laptop should has soft that power off laptop if cooling liquid is below critical level to prevent damage, also it should remind to fill tank.Sorry for my language but I'm not from English speaking country.

The Alienware M17x r3's 3D controller will not allow the user to install an NVidia 680M into the machine and still be able to push 3D on the system. The problem appears to be that the M17x r3 BIOS doesn't contain the certificate needed to validate the 680M is a card that is able to push 3D. Dell/Alienware should make the additions to the BIOS for the M17x r3 to allow this newer GPU to push 3D in the system. Additionally, the new fixes released today (7.18.12) inside of the A05 M17x r4 BIOS regarding the GPU boost technology should also be included in this BIOS update for the M17x r3.By adding these two simple features to the M17x r3 BIOS, Dell/Alienware is enabling a considerable amount of individuals to purchase more hardware and help ensure long-lasting customer satisfaction.Status Update: This idea is now Under Review. Please be patient as we will be limited in what information we can share during this process.

it would be a good idea to make the alienware r3 and improve the bad things of the r2 like a 2nd fan intel haswell and a better nvidia card also to remove the the optical drive because no that much people use it and that would make it thiner and lighter also make the prices lower or let them stay the same because they are expensive but you got the point that is a high quality gaming laptop (p.s sorry for spelling mistakes i just wanted to make the idea so i did not focus on spelling) or you can make the alienware m11x r4 many people ask it so that would increase how many people buy it

Hey Everyone,So I decided to make a post saying what would be nice for the M14x R3.I don't know about everyone else, but I'm looking for a very portable laptop (11-15 inches), with high end power for gaming. The M14x ALMOST made that specification. Here are some ideas that could make the M14x R3 the ultimate portable machine: Add 1080p resolution Give options for AMD HD 7970 or the upcoming 8970 OR Give options for Geforce GTX ___m So far those are the only improvements I want for the M14x, as better graphic cards is the main improvment to make.Good job Dell and Alienware, keep it up!

Currently there is only 1 set of monitors that I know of that have been built for the multi-monitor crowd and they were developed by Samsung. They are lackluster panels that are overpriced. I would really like to see a whole suite of thin bezel monitors that you can put side by side to form a near panormic image. The ideal case is there would be a low cost version, and mid-range business version, and a high cost graphics design version. All of which should come with vesa mounting brackets. A possibly better idea would be to give the option to remove the bezel entirely and give the ability to interlock conjoining monitors together. Then somehow connect the monitors together to support local led dimming.A very modular/ standard design would be great. The ability to use a "center" monitor as the 2560x1080 monitor I saw from Dell earlier with 1920x1080 montiors on either side would be the ideal setup.

I AM INTRESTED IN BUYING A M17XR4 LAPTOP FROM INDIAN STORE BUT THERE IS FEASIBILITY OF UPGRADING GRAPHIC CARD FROM GTX 675M. WHAT WE EXPECTING IS FOR AMD RADEON HD 7970M. IF U GUYS ENABEL AMD RADEON HD 7970M IN INDIA DELL STORES TOO IT WILL BE SO GOOD.. PLZZ TRY TO UPGRADE GRAPHIC CARD OF M17XR4 FROM GTX675 TO AMD RADEON 7970M OR GTX 680M. PLZZ TRY TO FIX THIS. HOPE THIS WOULD WORK. THANK YOU.
Ideal for graphics professionals, game, web and application developers, for an affordable mid range "games/Pro" Windows 8 Touch Screen 64bit PC, featuring nvidia x60M and higher ranged +2GB graphics. Designed in a similar manner as the XPS 18 AIO Touch model, wirh 8GB and more RAM and combined with the ability to use a pressure sensitive pen (similar to Wacom Cintiq) directly on the glass surface. The idea is to give a budget choice of Prosumer/Professional Grade Graphics, (nvidia x60M or higher and QuadroM) that could take advantage of the portable format people who move a lot would love, and an amount of CUDA processors for iray and high end graphics from nvidia strong enough for Entry/Mid Range 3dsmax/maya/mudbox professionals and create a device, that would be ideal for mid/high end gamers, developers, and designers. Of course keyboard and mouse remains. Price it smart, (between mid XPS 18 and mid XPS 27 One) and Artists, Developers, Students, and Gamers are going to love it!

Hey with the next version of AlienFX can you add a heartbeat features for all the lighting zones?
Dell, I've been a fan of Alienware ever since I saw the original M15X with the Ripley lid and another lid type that I forget the name of. I've been wanting one of these machines ever since, but I haven't been able to afford one. I'm now 20 years old, and since you have bought Alienware, they've gained access to your resources and in turn lowered their prices a bit. This allowed me to finally purchase one.I do have to say though, after having my M14X for a few months now, I will never go back to using another brand of computers. This laptop is truly satisfying to the gamer-on-the-go. I didn't upgrade to the quad core I7, nor did I get the 900p screen (looking into upgrading it soon). With that said, this laptop has truly amazed me in performance and portability. I used to have a 15" HP Pavilion I used for gaming and it was heavy. What didn't make sense to me was that it was 'thinner' than my M14X, yet heavier and less powerful. You crammed this power in a 14" beast and it has impressed me greatly. But I do have a complaint/idea/opportunity.Like me, many Alienware fans who buy the laptops miss the M15X. I read that the M15X (before it was discontinued to bring the M14X) was fully GPU upgradeable, as opposed to the M14X not being GPU upgradeable. The M15X would also be big enough to cram a 1080p screen into, something some gamers like to have even in a 15" laptop, so screen options could range from 768p, to 900p to 1080p. More quality screens with a wider range of colors would also justify the price of the laptop even more - also offer matte and glossy choices, rather than jusy glossy. In all honesty, I do not see the 'why' in changing from the M15X to the M14X. If I had a say-so in what builds you put out in Alienware, I would make a 13" model, a 15" model and the 17" model (dropping the 18"). In the 17" model, give it back the crossfire/sli support and make it the beast machine of your line-up again.I also believe a new design on the laptop cases would be appropriate should you choose to go for another line-up in a next 'revision'. This design is beautiful, yes, but something a tad thinner and less bulky would appeal to a wider range of laptop users. Technology is getting thinner and thinner in the computer area and I think Alienware should keep up with it. It would bring more business should you appeal to the people who like the thinner laptops. I personally do not mind the bulkyness, but It's a bit odd when I'm around my friends with their Macbooks doing design like I do on my M14X and they have a simple design in an aluminum case that looks beautiful. I wish Alienware would make something thing, aluminum body to help with cooling yet shove the signature AlienFX lighting in there. I'd buy it.Thank you for reviewing this, and I hope this eventually get's implemented. Status Update: This idea is currently Under Review as stated in this comment from Francisco_S.
