Nano data storage beig able to store thousand of data and high resolution images on data devices no bigger than a fingernail. That an ultra-smooth surface is the key factor for "Self-assembly" a cheap, high-volume, high-density patterning techique. This allows manfactuers to use the method on a variety of different surfaces. This discovery paves the way for the developemnt of the next generations data storage devices, with capacities of up to 10 Terabits per square inch, which could lead to signficantly greater storage on much small data devices. The "Self-assembly" technique is one of the simplest and cheapest high-volume methods for creating uniform, densly-packed nanostructures that could potentialy help store data. Self-assembly is one of the leading candidates for large scale nanofabrication at very high pattern densities. One of its most obvious applications will be in the field of bit patterned media or the hard disk industry. It's has a limit of surface roughness allowed for the successful self-assembly of dots, whihc could eventually be used in making high-density data storage. If we want large scale, large area nanopatterning using very affordable self-assembly, the surface needs to be extremely smooth so that we can achieve efficient, successful self-assembly and with lower incidences of defects.

Introduce a precision mobile workstation in a 14" chassis with a 15" IPS HD+ screen. Also add an additional option of the current 15" Precision Mobile Workstation chassis with a 17" IPS HD+ screen. This would be preferrable to the Covet Edition option.

This would be a software that would be implemented onto current and future POS stations used for scanning credit cards. What it would do is allow the option for the user to get a paper receipt and/or an electronic receipt. This electronic receipt would be sent to the cloud for storage giving the user the ability to access it at a later time. It could also be simultaneously texted or emailed to the user allowing immediate review of the receipt. This would allow the user to both review receipts with out the waste of paper and ink, and give them a record keeping system that could be used when working with taxes or other financial systems. These electronic copies of receipts would open up a new door on applications allowing users to pool together their information to find the best deals in the area, the average price of an item, and so much more. This idea could be marketed to stores as a way to save them money on paper and ink for pos machines. It would be good for your image since it would be considered green. It would be very well received by consumers as a single location for them to manage their receipts for tax season. It would be a reason for consumers that still use cash to get away from in increasing your overall flow of money and transactions. It could even be used with a yearly fee, or single fee for the option for the consumer to purchase a dvd copy of their data for archiving.

I have some request from Dell Enterprise Customers’ that they are requesting to do health check of Dell Servers & Storage. Also when I re-locate the datacenter of our some customer they are also asking about Health Check the systems before moving the equipment from old datacenter and after that when they start production run again health check of the system. So in the above situation I would like to raise this request to provide Dell Health Check software for enterprise customers.RegardsAsim

The rails for the power vaults need to be more like the rails that are for the servers. The current rail system is too short to fit in my rack and I currently have to leave my power vault sitting on the APC UPS at the bottom of the rack.

I submitted an RFP to Dell on SIX HUNDRED work stations and a possible in-house server setup. I received an auto response that someone would contact me. No one ever did! Dell doesn't need the business?

In every enterprise there is a need for a lightweight server, running a domain server, email server, webserver for intranet, etc These servers don't need much processing capability, but as they run all the time need to be energy efficient and not take up too much room. Of course a lot of these are virtualised now, but this doesn't suit everyone. My idea is to create a new server platform which is basically an android based mobile phone without the phone connectivity and to either rely on wifi, or add a network connection. For disk based tasks add an SSD drive which would be fast and also low heat/energy. Android can easily run domain server, email server, etc software The OS can also be locked down to prevent virus attacks, and because it can be treated as a true appliance the maintenance for the device would be very low (no running large numbers of windows updates etc) Because of it's size, you could fit a very large number of this appliance servers in a rack mounting kit. In terms of creating these devices, a lot of the software and hardware already exists already. Please let me know what you think of this idea.

As notebook mobility is becoming more and more important, battery autonomy and NOT available disk space is becoming a major decisive factor. It would thus be very useful to be able to build a notebook without the standard power guzzling hard drive.A Solid State Device HD would lower heat generation and lower power consumption. Status UpdateGreat idea! We are already offering SSDs on some of our products. http://direct2dell.com/one2one/archive/2007/06/26/19139.aspx
