vostro 2421 and vostro 2521, The type of WLAN card and Bluetooth has not been mentioned under the technial specification The web cam pixes have not been mention for the same only Integrated 1.0 MP HD camera with digital microphone has been mentioned ,why I this not clear is because there som companies proividing better resolution cpmpared to Dell laptop with 1028x1024 ters as HD and dell puts a lower resolution 1024x720 and terms it as HD.causing confusion. Why does dell not provide btter resolution web camera in laptop with 1024x1028 pix and terms as HD Also stick the energy star label on the vostro laptop body ,just as other brand do. Click on tech specification tab Link for vostro 2521:http://www.dell.com/hk/en/business/p/vostro-2521/pd Link for vostro 2421:http://www.dell.com/hk/en/business/p/vostro-2421/pd

Disappointment after sharing vostro laptop design ideas that needs in buisnes

Despite share of ideas and recommending dell to use screws for keyboard removal Dell still uses plastic lockings for keyboard removal in vostro 2421 and vostro 2521 which is broken easly during service. Why Do I require the keyobard to be removed ? Its because after 2-3 yrs or more usage the thermal paste gets dried up and needs to re-apply new paste.during the time of removal, if removed according to service manuel provided by dell even by me or the dell technician the clips break off on just pushing it changes the shape of the clips. and thats the reason I request dell to use screws to hold the keyobard. This features does require in buisness. IF Dell laptops are going to last for 2-3 yrs and then going to be dead this design would be good enough. well the HDD is placed up well on right side. Also the access to wlan card it ws better but cons mentioned above.

Case Id note view able to customer

Why does dell not provide customer with case notes ,like suppose the cusomter has a problem a case is created with case id:xxxxxxx, can be technical or customer care case ,when the cusomter check the status from link support->support History & part dispatch status->Search by:History of product support,View by:Service tag,Date:xx/xx/xxx, once when customer submit here the cusomter able to see case no but here the customer is only able to see Agent initiated phone contact or Customer initiated phone contact or Customer initiated phone contact or In progress . Sometimes there are parts sent ,which parts are sent not really known ,just SRE no is provided on site and on mail. My question here is that why not provide case id with breif case notes /discription of call ,why is the information hidden to a dell customer and only visible to dell employee ?does that make sence just providing three-four different sentences as always ? No,Not at all. I Would like to see some updates on this very soon.

The vostro laptop body case cover comes in three different colours but ,these colours are never avilable in India and are only avilable in very few countries. Why not make all three colour availability option in world wide rather then dell saying colours are in specific to region.if dell does not want to provide then maintain one body case colour world wide as standard. This is a every year issue.

At first, sorry my english is awful. I think's the tablets, laptops and other things aren't very effektiv for work. They more like playing and surfing at the internet. I think what we need is an full working PC or something like this and a screen like a tablet, linked with wifi and a 256 coding. The user can work with touchscreen up to 17" and a mouse if he like. At the PC can run at normal Windows or something else, the screen should be constructed for normal home use and for abrasive use at a garage for example.pros:Working like on a PC, with microsoft or f.. SAP program and so onlightweight constructionFlexible at the working placeLonger time to work with the same battery than on an Laptop17" screen, smaller or bigger...

problem in vostro laptop with Wifi

vostro laptop 3560 and some other laptop basily its vostro laptop most of the series that I have used, the vostro 3560 uses DW1704 WLAN card, and has major speed/signal drops every year cusomter flood community site with the same and dell does not provide fix for it.happnes only on N -routers .Tech support not known why it happens only send part replacement but does not provide fix before launching the product in market. I would recommend dell to test the WLAN card in N mode and on N router which are used in home/office router, before launching the product adn puttin the cusomter into inconvinence. Major Problem in WiFi: Speed/signal drop like 5.5mbps to 11mbps and the 27mbps then 130mbps,keeps fluctuating (WLAN set to " N " mode) or there would be weak signal comparend to other brand.this issue not seen in atheros WLAN card.  Why I set in N mode is to get the best connectivity and speed that routers transmitt on N standard. thats is 150mbps. When the laptop wakes from sleep mode takes longer time to connect back compared to any other brand of laptops avilable in market, again tech support not aware of this, and blam saying pirated os or os problem when its a clear thing to say driver fix need to be provided

It would be interesting to create an online web system that allows individual trade prices enter a region's available. So that allows customers to make informed decisions in choosing the best prices

I would recommed dell to provide HDD with differnt storage limit and also provide 5400RPM and 7200RPM optional hdd in vostro laptop series line.   Why 5400RPM becase of less heat generated and less vibration.

Hard drive placement in dell laptop from inspiron to vostro model & some latitude

The hard disk of all the laptop in Dell should be redesigned and placed just below next to the optical drive(should be user replaceable ).just like the Vaio E series of 2012 HDD has been placed.this reduces heating of motherboard and other components. But when the hard driver is placed just next to the optical drive it should placed seperating with hard plastic body just like vaio e series is,and not by black plastic paper type which dell uses in curent model.

Business vs Consumer - Who Cares?

Dec 20, 2012

Status: Acknowledged

I was just ready to purchase a $2.5K M6700 mobile workstation but was told I could not use my Dell DFS Preferred account since that is good only for "consumer" computers. In this day and age do we really assume we need this artifical category of Home and Business? If I have a Dell account with the credit to make a purchase, why does Dell care if it is an individual or a business? I received a long, complicated explaination from a rep saying it would be illegal for Dell to sell me this laptop if I was not a business. Huh? Whatever, I will take my business to HP and buy a high end mobile workstation there.
