Facebook Login to IdeaStorm

I have noticed that alot of my ideas have had more votes on the Dell Community than on IdeaStorm because of the larger user base. We have requested a single sign on somewhat unsuccessfully through the Dell Community. However in addition a Facebook addin for each idea would also be great where a users "like" would be equivalent to an "idea promotion". A Google mail and Microsoft Account extension would also be welcomed. In addition to enabling more users to vote, this would place IdeaStorm via IdeaStorm ideas on users Facebook pages  promoting both IdeaStorm and the Dell Community.Note the Facebook login aswell as Google mail and Microsoft Account would only be for users who wish to promote ideas. If a user decided to post a new idea they would still need to join IdeaStorm the conventional way.

Ability to purchase small replacement pieces (Laptop Keys) for laptops directly from Dell.

Recently a key broke off from my fairly new laptop. The warranty had just expired days earlier. I was shocked when I called the dell service desk, and they said the only option would be to send in my laptop and spend $170 for a replacement keyboard. I had done research before I called, and found websites that sold the keys (Keys, the plastic support piece, and the rubber cup) for around $4. When I told the Dell rep that I was going to peruse this other website for the replacement piece, he got angry and said "There is no website in the world that you can buy individual laptop keys from".  I ordered the key, and it came a few days later. Worked like a charm.I find it hard to believe that it is impossible to buy the laptop keys from dell. I understand that older models would not be available. I would have much rather purchased this from dell, over some random website. In the end, this website came through like a champ, and I came away with a sour experience with dell.

as we know that when searching for an information in google it provides a lots of links to look in actually a few websites provide correct information near 80% websites do not contain the right information about,my idea is to provide an information meter for each website that it contains that much  % of matter,by this we can save time. actually lot of people dont know which websites provide much information to their needs.

Dell's web site is too confusing

Dell needs to get back to it's roots. There are way too many pre-build laptops on the site.  To pick from.  So confusing.Dell needs to go back to building on demand.Pick the screen size, pick the processor, pick os, pick hard drive size, etc...This must be why the laptops are so expensive now.  Too much inventory to have. With build on demand, you can reduce your prices by at least 200 from what is listed on the web site.

Dell Online Service

I have used Dell products for many years and continue to be amazed at the amazingly lousy service. It's totally unacceptable that so much time is wasted waiting to get someone on the phone to resolve an issue. It seems as though Dell corporate has a deliberate strategy of making it so painful to get an answer on a refund that the frustrated customer simply hangs up.This is really unacceptable.

Mention Correct Tech Specification on dell website

Dell needs to mention correct tech specification . like with web camera resolution 1024x1028 pixel ,(most of the time as I see this under vostro laptop tech specs ,under multimedia :Dell Webcam Central and video conferencing via MS Messenger or Skype) what can be understood from this ?? mention WLAN card correctly with the operating speed as you may see the sony vaio website for WLAN speed mentioned clearly, tech specification like speed eg:150mpbs or 300mbps which is standard and not mention upto as dell mentions 72mbps or 270mbps what does this mean not a reliable speed ??. mention the country where the WWAN card are not available for specific model. mention the country where the WLAN card are not available for specific model. Why I asked this is becasue most of the time the sales person are not aware if its going to be made avilabel or no.

Driver ID Database for all Dell Drivers and Operating Systems

Often during installation of an OS the driver needs reinstalled and if customers miss one or two they may have an (!) in the Device Manager. We often refer them to look at the hardware IDs and then look on the likes of Google for the correct driver. These sites that list the drivers are mostly unofficial, moreover they often link to Malware etc. so can be problematic if the customer looks directly. e.g. this thread here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19473458/20284789.aspx#20284789 Google Search of the hardware ID: BTHENUM\{cbecab40-a2c8-4ab3-adc1-de0fe95d8600}_LOCALMFG&0000 Note none of the searches lead to an official Dell Driver. I see mention of an atheros and bluetooth so I guessed the Dell Wireless 1702 Card. It would be great if Dell had on their ftp website or Drivers and Downloads website a Database where one could input the hardware ID and for it to list the latest driver for each OS and what the component is called e.g. the latest driver: XP - Dell Wireless 1702 Card Vista 32 bit - Dell Wireless 1702 Card Vista 64 bit - Dell Wireless 1702 Card Windows 7 32 bit - Dell Wireless 1702 Card Windows 7 64 bit - Dell Wireless 1702 Card Windows 8 32 bit - Dell Wireless 1702 Card Windows 8 64 bit - Dell Wireless 1702 Card There is the Microsoft Update Catalogue for this but it is often quite limited.

Idea Storm Registration Form

Please fix the new user registration form. The idea of disappearing input field titles is a very bad idea. Once the mouse focus goes into the field, it is quite not easy to figure out what I am supposed to type.If the whole idea of this website is to capture new ideas, why beat down on a simple HTML form with unnecessary complexity?-Satheesh
