It is in the very center of SAA, the South Atlantic magnetic Anomaly. This causes the Van Allen radiation belt to be much more close to Earth than it would be in a normal place. Well, I live in this city.This Van Allen radiation belt is actually two belts, plasma torus to be more precise. These are like second ionospheres, loaded with charged particles. When they're at their normal "safe" distance, nothing much significative happens. But here, in the center of SAA... this charged particles somes so close to the Earth that it becomes unsafe for Satellites to cross it. Even the Hubble has to be turned off when crossing, and the ISS received a special cover to prevent too much radiation on the astro/cosmonauts.Well, but how this will help people? - You should be asking yourself. It's not so simple. The Harvey 1 project has the objective of installing a Radiotelescope in this region, being free of Communication Satellites crossing the sky and interfeering in the radio receptions from... from the Sun. We will monitor and analyze solar wind, solar flares and bursts, magnetic storms to help improve the actual systems of prevention. Let's state that a powerful solar wind burst can destroy completely, purge all communication systems on Earth. Even destroy electronic devices.2013 is the peak of Sun’s cicle of activity (the complete cicle runs for about 11 years). May, 2013, is predicted to be the stormiest solar month in the last 100 years.The Harvey 1 project got a Radiotelescope from a NASA program called S.A.R.A. Grant Program. But there are a lot of things that we still need. First, of course, a Dell workstation for processing all the received radio signals. just a thought because of all the uncertainties of the future of electricity dell should produce a solar-paneled encased pc. as well as a solar powered case, so all a person would have to do when in transit is either plug the pc into its carrying case which has a solar regenerator implemented into the bag.so that it recharges itself while you walk,bike, etc to your next destination. it would definately cut down on all the wires and cords you usually have to carry normally, also make the plug-in universal, so that if you change , or upgrade the pc you dont have another set of cords to deal with, which could lead to major confusion not knowing which cord goes with which pc and cutting out the stress of having to search for the right cord because you either left it in the hotel room or it accidentally got cut or the tip broke or the wire inside the power cord broke. and your laptop is dying with no way of recharging it, its your only link to the world youre in the middle of nowhereville. where even if you didnt lose the cord you still cant charge because last time i checked there are no electrical outlets attached to trees or rocks, unless you know something different than i do. so make the outside of the pc a solar panel making it self charging, so any time of the day it is ready to use, and you have an attachment (usb maybe) that just flips out from the bag and plugs in, it being solar powered as well. this could potentially save millions of dollars. because you are not using any electricity. and no landfills are being filled with junk cords. solar panels cost next to nothing to make really, no harmful emmissions, cant hurt you, well you get the picture. so you probably have something like this already, but if not then this would be considered a copyright or trademark or whatever this idea is. and would appreciate proper handling of this idea of mine, Linda Lennie , b. jan 21, 1966. thank you

This will make Kernel accountable for exchange of carbon credits/debit by its smart functioning. In fixed built infrastructure existing structure cabling can be used for this project.Geeen Desktop will have Smart SMPS with duo battery (green/ungreen use), will get power from Ethernet port and get charged and supply to motherboard and other devices. This SMPS will also take power from existing sorce (ungreen)But it will be accounted and cumulated to total setup.Green laptop power adaptor will connect to Ethernet port (existing power will be removed), which will take ungreen power from raw plug and charge battery via ethernet port. Just like with the unified open standard USB power supply for mobile phones computer manufacturers could limit their footprint and reduce world-wide-waste with a unified power supply.That would reduce costs.Mobile devices could be shipped without power supply.Manufacturers would be less damaging to nature.Electronic waste would be reduced.All manufacturers and customers would have a greater benefit.Natural resources depletion would be diminished.China dependency would be smaller.Power supply efficiency could be much higher by investing in a (very) high efficiency (>95%) power supply for several devices.Electricity bill would therefore be reduced.Actually, everybody would win and sooner or later it would be put it into a legal obligation.
In the US it was possible to spend some dollars to plant a tree after the configuration of your system. This would be a great idea for every country!
In the last shipment of computers I received I was shocked by the amount of plastic wrap used for items like power cords, USB cables, VGA/DVI cables. Do these items really need to be individually wrapped in a plastic bag. I can just imagine the tons of plastic used by Dell annually... There are many suggestions here for various changes that could make a PC "greener". As part of the companies green credentials, I believe that not only should as many of these as possible be a "default" option, but there should be specific "greener" models of desktops and laptops. These would have lower power usage and should be created and shipped in a more environmentally friendly way. Components, too, could be kept to a minimum - onboard graphics and sound and a removal in "legacy" ports. The desktop version of this could use laptop components to better embrace this idea. The vast majority of PC users require one for emails, internet browsing and office applications - a low powered (but not under-powered) PC and laptop that are more than sufficient for this should be easy to produce. Why does the Direct2Dell site automatically buffer every video on a web page? This is a complete waste of energy and slows load times for the page when there are several videos posted. Make it more like youtube where you click on the video and then it buffers.
