Ability to Disable Battery Charging on Alienware m14x r2

We had the ability to disable battery charging in bios on the m14x r1, but on the r2 there is no such option. I think it is a great option that allows us to disable our battery at lower battery charge states, as to prolong its life. Research shows that li-ion batteries degrade faster when stored at full charge. It is best to leave them at around 50%.Dell/alienware please put this option back in our pc's!!

reinvent a business model

Dear Sir or Madam,I’ve being wanting to type this email since I learned that Dell was going private but just now I have a few minutes to spare. I’m excited about this move!! I’m eager to see in what direction the company will pivot! In my opinion this was a bold and necessary decision. I hope Dell reinvents a business model that eventually every other manufacturer will need to follow in order to compete with Dell; A business model that focuses on the welfare of the employees, the  footprint of the product, and the satisfaction of the consumers.  You (DELL) can make a few adjustments that will make Americans love you and since Dell is competing in a global market bring these changes to those regions.Engage in business practices that values human life, Shout OUT!!! that you care about the people who make the product. Brag about making an awesome product while taking care of our natural resources. Give us the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, have people pick up the phone from the start.  Craft the new work style Include as a apart of the agenda an hr of aerobic workout or yoga session.Have cafeterias with nourishing meals and smoothies.Have your buildings next to athletic fields where the children of the employees can practice sports, this way the parents who have to work overtime can leave when is convenient to  watch their  children play.Have daycares with nursing rooms so moms can visit with their babies every 3hrs. –moms will take a 5min brisk walk to and from daycare which is much needed and they get to relax for 30min while nursing  to get back to work refreshed and with a feeling of gratitude for their work environment.Buy American made capital and make it known in Dr. OZ, abc world news… e.g.you bought 740 Vitamix for your nourishing smoothies’ (made with local produce) stations in all your buildings.Make a product that can replace many othersI want to use my phone for everything. Make a phone or tablet that can do the job of a pc, camera, video, and make me a wireless keyboard to go with it. Make it taught so I can drop it, use it on top of a mountain, at the bottom of the ocean, on a windy day in a sandy beach… Market your product in ways that everyone will love DELL; choose which ads are broadcasted in which states:In conservative states you advertise about… DELL thinks about the Family Unit during the making of our products… we make products that don’t compromise the family budget, products that are reliable and resilient. And of course deliver what you promise! In liberal states you advertise about fomenting a work environment where everyone can be themselves openly. Tell us what you’re doing to respect the environment. Not only are you fomenting the highest code of work morality in the US but you are taking this code to other countries!Be LOUD about the good changes, with social media you can share your message although there is so much traffic that you have to be strategic in how you’re going to make it heard. Maybe you can time your come back with the release of a cool movie and place you product in such a movie!I know that all this may “sound” over optimistic with a blurry sense of reality but this how all the inventions looked like before they became “real”.Regards,Dafne

Dell's web site is too confusing

Dell needs to get back to it's roots. There are way too many pre-build laptops on the site.  To pick from.  So confusing.Dell needs to go back to building on demand.Pick the screen size, pick the processor, pick os, pick hard drive size, etc...This must be why the laptops are so expensive now.  Too much inventory to have. With build on demand, you can reduce your prices by at least 200 from what is listed on the web site.

IT facilities accessible (easily usable) by Senior Citizens

I would like to see Dell (or other company) provide a 'one stop' unit to go to to maintain IT equipment in good working order throughout its working life. By 'one stop' I mean one unit like a trusted friend who knows about PCs/IT who can put things right and do not 'pass the buck' on to umpteen people.  Of course one would not mind paying for that kind of service if it were available.  When there is even a minor problem using my IT, I should be able to go to Dell who will sort it out so I can get on with my work. Most senior citizens like myself do not have ready access to trusted experts who can be relied upon to sort out problems. We may be prey to unscrupulous 'comboys' who 'manufacture' a problem in order to hoodwink people to part with their money.

dell inspirion hard drive removal.

i own an inspirion 14/14z, and i must say, it is impossible to access the hard drive without taking the laptop completely apart. not only is this highly unusual, but it also not a smart idea. i risk voiding my warranty just to replace a HDD? thats insane! i have never before seen laptop that had a hard drive inaccessable from the bottom. maybe back in the 80s or 902(before my time), but as of 2013?! this type of thing quite frankly, is unacceptable. people risk breaking thier laptops just to switch out an HDD. not cool dell. i love dell and alienware, i expect better honestly.dell needs to make it known on the webpages of these laptops, that the hard drive is not removeable from the bottom. this is a deal breaker for me. had i known this was the case, i would have NEVER bought this laptop. the alienware m14(which i also own), is much easier to take out the hard drive than the 14r.suppose what do i do if i have to back up this hard drive now? or replace it if it dies? dell should do an external HDD promo for people who buy this model, because it would be eaiser to back up the drive from time to time rather than replace it.

Expense Reduction and Going Green

I have always paid my DFS account by pre-authorized cheque, and I presume that this is standard payment method at Dell. That being the case, why do you send me/us an empty envelope with every monthly statement of the DFS account? The envelopes are not only a waste of paper, but also an unecessary expense. How many envelopes do you send out each month that go unused? Why do you send a monthly statement? Surely Dell can do all of this online. The cost of paper, postage, etc., etc must be considerable. Dell has got to cut costs! You can stop the waste of money, paper, postage, etc., by simply stoping sending envelopes that are not used, and by DFS putting all accounts on line.Frank

Dell mouse malfunction 4 times within 9 months

Dear Sir,Dell mouse model D PPID-CN-09RRC7-48723-272-OAQJ for my Inspiron 660S had malfunctioned for the fourth time within 9 months after replacement. This shows that there is a serious quality control problem for this peripheral. I would appreciate if Dell Quality Assurance Team could tackle this problem from its source. This is important to maintain the Dell Brand name as a quality and reliable product. For the best interest and the convenience of the customer, I would suggest that Dell could replace the faulty mouse of this model with other more reliable mouse model that is used in the office.Thank you

Dell Online Service

I have used Dell products for many years and continue to be amazed at the amazingly lousy service. It's totally unacceptable that so much time is wasted waiting to get someone on the phone to resolve an issue. It seems as though Dell corporate has a deliberate strategy of making it so painful to get an answer on a refund that the frustrated customer simply hangs up.This is really unacceptable.
