I use my Dell laptop as a VMWare-based virtual lab workstation with 32 bits Linux host for (supporting up to 32GB of RAM available to applications), and I do not plan to buy a new laptop until it supports up to 16GB of RAM. This would allow running all of my virtual LABs and working on my virtual architecture for testing and planning purposes before further hardware testing and deployment. And I need a laptop as I'm always moving. I am often working with 5-9 virtual guests, and more, some of them requiring more than 1GB RAM to work. I know that I am not the only one in this situation. I wish this would be available until 1 year, when my Dell support will expire. Status Update Please see mano_g's comment

After tweaking and loading the best Microsoft performance configurations in W2K server and W2003 server configurations, I expect more performance from my precision. I expect 2 bay Hardfile with Raid 5 or Raid 6 capability. The hardfile is the bottleneck. Quad pentium support would be nice as well. Do we have to get out and push Dell into performance? I own 2 390's and love them but didnt have enough power so I bought a rackable PE 2950. It would be nice if I could put them all in a rack to save the space. Their boarder line servers. We should have the option Status Update Please see mano_g's comment

Now that the M6300 offers an upgrade to the fantastic new Quadro FX 3600M graphics card, I'd really *really* like to see a preconfigured high-end system that offers that and Blu-ray. Currently, this is not supported. This would be analagous to the XPS M1730 WOW Edition for us Engineer types. (Until/if Dell ever releases a long-awaited M9300?!) The FX1600m is nice, but, the M6300 is no competitor to the M90 with a FX3500m. I would like to see a dx10 version of the FX3500m, I assume it will be the FX3600m? Status Update Please see mano_g's comment

Seeing as how all other manufacturers of 17" workstation class laptops have integrated numberpads, it strikes me as odd that Dell has not produced such a system. I was excited to hear about the M6300, and then disappointed to see that it was essentailly just a newer M90. Those of us who spend large amounts of time dealing with numbers could really use a number pad that does not require the use of the [Fn] key. Status Update Please see mano_g's comment

I like the specs on the new Precision 6300 but it looks like a darker grey version of my Inspiron 6000. Why hasn't Dell tried to make the thing better looking? The least they could have done is put it in a Latitude case.
