Where has the innovation gone in Dell laptops?

Thu Apr 14 04:11:01 GMT 2011 - Apr 14, 2011

I definitely think the Studio and Studio XPS looks a lot better aesthetically than the XPS.  Dell should have maintained the great design and looks, and just improved internals from there.  Not build a new machine with high specs and then hastily through a fat, ugly body on it.  XPS is simply too fat and unattractive, especially at that high price.  Ordinary low-end consumers usually hold appearance as a important factor in purchasing.

Everyone thank you for upranking, Dell has responded:

"With the transition to Sandy Bridge technology, we chose to re-focus our efforts on incorporating this feedback into future thin and light products launching later this year. Stay tuned!"

Dell will be replacing the XPS 14 with a newer thinner laptop running Sandy Bridge and hopefully the same goes with the other XPS laptops.

Thank You Dell.

@retail_guy2009

exactly, Dell has attempted thin and pricey laptops (Adamo line) that was just as thin as Macbooks but lacked the performance and that's why they didnt sell so well.  Dell should take the standard line of laptops and attempt to make them thinner, but not as thin as the Adamo line that they have to sacrifice performance for form.

Then Dell should consider ATI graphics card options then.  If they use ATI graphics options for desktops, they should use it for laptops too.
