130 points posted to Dimension products, Sales Strategies by eliesl Jan 21 Provide an 'opt-in' service at the time of purchase that will advise the non-tech saavy owner of upgrades available for their computer on an annual basis that COULD improve performance. I spent the weekend with my parents (over 65) this weekend and their Dimension 2400 with 256mb of RAM. It was painful - but we have now ordered them a memory upgrade. If Dell could find a way to proactively tell people who ask for advice when such upgrades are possible I believe you might sell more product and in the long run have more satisfied customers.
