Dell should upgrade customers with Windows Vista 32bit to Windows Vista 64-bit for free

-70 points posted to Advertising and Marketing, Operating Systems by helmecj01 12/26/07

I think Dell should upgrade customers with Windows Vista 32bit to Windows Vista 64-bit for free and with all the new product Dell have to Windows Vista 64-bit drivers as well or Windows XP Pro 64-bit drivers.

On all new Dell computer have preinstall Windows Vista 64-bit

Wanting expensive software "for free" just means it's a hidden cost added on to some other component.

Actually as quoted from Microsoft's OEM support it is up to Dell rather they "want" to or not. They actually have the right to do it for free...

Look at this document. It shows that Microsoft has given them the "right" to do it.

Not everyone is capable of technically doing this sort of upgrade themself, as well there are only a few configurations that support a direct upgrade from 32Bit version to 64bit.
