Inexpensive Product/Refurbished Product for Nonprofits?

160 points posted to Dell by spacejockeys 11/28/07

Organizations such as TechSoup make software products incredibly affordable for nonprofits, only charging them a handling fee. Hardware products are still woefully lacking. It would be great to see programs that get hardware, PCs, etc into the hands of nonprofits at cost.

Dell still needs to be able to warranty systems, this cost money. Software for nonprofits is typically handled thru other vendors that sell corporate, educational, healthcare, non-profit software licenses.

I worked for a nonprofit a few years ago, we replaced our system every 3 years, bought 3yr gold support and keep your old HD on drive failures (we handled protected health information) . Dell always gave us great deals over website pricing for optiplex systems. I understand some nonprofits have significantly less money, but there are great deals if you get to the rights sales people, and Dell isnt where you buy software for a nonprofit.
