I priced an XPS 420 on dell.com and dell.ca and the american price was $500 cheaper than the Canadian price for the exact same computer. With the Canadian dollar higher than the US dollar US products should be cheaper not more expensive

sugarbear 11/13/07	My guess is, it has something to do with the import, export tarif fees.
premcv 11/13/07	Also something about the Cross-border transportation of goods, or something like that. I've heard this somewhere, can't place a finger as to where.
millhauz 11/13/07	It´s not just Canadians. Plus the whole options system is incosistent - the parts in the configurator have sometimes double the price than in other countries Some of the price differences are due to fees, taxes, less demand etc.

mugunth 11/19/07	Its not environmental fees.... I wanted to say "Not true...".. A small typo by the way... It's Dell's marketing strategy... Think of Australians.. It's way to higher... In India it's high because of import duty and other stuff... Compared to Singapore, it's higher in Malaysia though Dell laptops for Asia-Pacific region are manufactured there... Why is this discrepency? Dell wants only Americans to buy their PCs?
