11/10/07		 I like It. Sir Michael is a gamer and this all looks like a game with a lot of humor. I could easily see parts of this making a two minute commercial. It`s much nicer than the XPS motor commercial. Some times the commercial can get to high tech.

Somebody at Dell, make sure Sir Michael see`s it.

11/10/07		 I can't believe that video was actually produced by Dell. It's far too controversial. Chopping people up and maiming competitors. Then all this libellous stuff about "Proprietary Land" and AMD and Intel fighting. And they didn't acknowledge any trademarks (including the penguin).

However, except for the gruesomeness and murders, I enjoyed it. Very cool. So yes, Dell, make something fun like that.

What I don't like though are those ads of Novell's with that silly woman pretending she's an operating system. What is she, an OS-tan? Do they really think some skinny brunette who REALLY can't act (nor can the other two actually) is going to sell software when they haven't told me anything about its advantages or why I would choose Novell over Red Hat etc?

11/10/07		 The point of the Novell add isn't to make you choose between Red Hat or Novell. It's to highlight the fact that Linux runs on virtually every platform you can buy. It's also taking pot shots at Apple and Microsoft. As for the Linux brunette. She's much prettier than the PC or the Mac.

Why aren't you complaining about the two geeks? Do you have something against women cosh? LOL.

11/10/07		 Well it does say something about the operating system. It's prettier than Windows or the Mac and it's multi-tasking capabilities are second to none and it's efficient. There is a reason why women make such good secretaries. They're naturals at multi-tasking. A skill men actually have to learn and one that many struggle with.

I found unix to be a hint at mac. They were aiming at the Role-players and Anime watchers with this ad, I can tell.

11/12/07		 Yea, right on. I posted pretty much along these lines, but it's good to see that I'm not the only one. That xps motor commercial is really, really lame. And the other dell commercial, that inspiron one about how colorful dells are. That's a waste of resources too.

11/12/07		 Either way, Dell should be doing more to advertise in general and push Linux. It should be clearly setting out it's stall to the public. It should be telling them about all the awesome free software you can run on a Dell. And not all of it's limited to Linux. OpenOffice and the GIMP are available for Windows as well.
