Produce a small USB connected Vista SideShow device

70 points posted to Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) by jervis961 11/05/07

Windows Vista has the SideShow function that some companies are now incorporating into products. What about all the customers who would like to use this function but lack the money or need for a new system. Dell should create a few plug n play type small displays to fill their need.

Excellent idea.

I am not sure of the compatability of the XPS 420's screen as a sideshow device butb working on peripherals with other partners would be a GREAT way to improve the functionality and usability with Vista. Sideshow is the way to go for new peripherals :)

You can actually thank Petzy for the inspiration. She asked me if there was a way to do this on a computer people already own. I looked around online and can't find too many products that would fit this need. It would be a good way for Dell to show some innovation.

I voted for it. Actually there have been a few ideas since the very start of the site of adding a sideshow display. I search and couldn't find anyone who had posted a solution for a customer who already had a computer though.
