While it is advantageous to host the poiticians for the Presidency. I believe Dell should remain politically neutral.

@sugarbear: this event was billed internally not as a political event (i.e. Dell is not endorsing a candidate), but as an opportunity to meet, listen, and ask questions of a presidential candidate. I couldn't attend myself, but believe it was exactly in keeping with your idea.

good to hear matt_d. I was worried about Dell comparing their environmental policies to Bill Richardson's and getting embarrassed.

@ matt- good idea...;)

@ Sugary Beary
Dell is an Organization socially and politically linked (extending this with my observation and learning from the comments in Ideastorm) ,
If Dell becomes politically nuetral, it will sound odd ..isnt it sugary beary?

@DEll matt_d there is nothing wrong with Fred thompson or Bill Richardson or any other politician coming to meet employees. We just know how the American politician uses every oportunity to be in the news. I didn`t want to see tomorrows headlines about anybody`s politics using Dell for a platform. I`m sorry you couldn`t attend. Maybe next time.

@petzy, In this country a corporation is better off being friendly to all politicians and alligning to none. It`s safer in the long run.

I also think that Dell should remain politically neutral. It is unfair for the money of a customer who supports Democrats to go to Dell and then to a Republican or vice versa.
