Merges have taken place that lumped UNLIKE ideas together.

UNIQUE submissions should NOT be merged, and merging should not take place without the submitter's _permission_.

dell_admin1 09/24/07	@phubert - this is old news... this idea has been posted before, and we've already responded to it. Would you like us to MERGE it into the original? A couple things: - unique ideas are not merged. There are a handful of examples of ideas that have been merged that shouldn't have... and when it's been brought to our attention, we've apologized for the merge error. - as a result, we're increasingly asking for permission before merging. - it's just me and dell_admin10 doing any merging now... based on the feedback from the community about too much merging happening.
phubert 09/24/07	You can delete it if you like. I saw gmat's suggestion on a warning before deleting and thought this should go with it. Blame my extreme age and always rotten memory, if you wish. -or- merge it.
phubert 09/25/07	The other reason I posted this one was the merge of my much earlier submission re: Linux and Education... it was merged with something that had nothing to do with it. (actually, vis a vis the current two posts, I'm not sure which thought/issue came first!)
