Dell,
Please add an option to have laptop powder coated. I don't know how much of an increase that would be for the consumer. But I think it would add to the durability and scratch-resistance of the surface.

08/27/07		 What up with all this painting of laptops, Dell wants to be green so now its in the toxic paint business? Yea, they'll be Green alright. Can't wait till some kid eats the paint and gets sick, can you say Class Action? All for a lousy paint job, not to mention the prep work to get the paint to stick right Dell, paint no matter how non-Toxic it maybe its process is nothing but Toxic all the way.

08/27/07		 Solid casings instead of painting would be much better and less wear'n'tear of the case.
Aluminum conduct head nicely as well.

08/27/07		 As if delays aren't already ridiculous now you want to waste more time powder-coating laptops..and for what??? powder coat it yourself if u want to...JESUS...

08/27/07		 I was thinking this would be a special order type of thing. I don't think everybody would need it. A powder coat would last longer than the normal paint jobs. This would be for those would need extra durability on the "Tough Notebooks". This is just an idea. IN my opinion Powder coated things in general cost a bit more. But I think, the outcome is worth the extra price for those who prefer this kind of coating.

11/30/07		 You have to bake powder coat. Plastic melts.
