IdeaStorm, hide the Idea posters name and voting individual listings.

Much like a true democracy who voted one way or another is not listed out like it is on IdeaStorm, hide the names at the bottom indicating who voted which way.

Also, hide the Idea posters name unless they wish to be identified this will allow for true voting on an Idea vs the popularity vote of a person or regime.

Leave the count displayed like it is now, much like on election day its nice to see how a vote is going. Don't forget to leave the count of motes vs demotes, or actually add it.

Of course this means the Dashboard must also conceal the Idea's owner.

Sorry, jorge, I prefer it as is! Don't change this, Dell!!

Anyway, user names seem to rarely identify the individual... and that is the user's -choice-. Meaning, this is unnecessary. Those who want to maintain anonymity may do so.

I was just adding it due to people stating that they only voted due to who voted against or for it or who the idea poster was, with out that info the voter must decide for themselves based on the idea alone. I know its dumb but if people are dumb enough to vote based on who already moted/demoted or posted this would eliminate the dumb factor voting.

Honor system? So we need more courtesy at the site? Too many 'laws', anyway jorge. Better to let people grow up, I think, than constantly try to account for their behavior by more rules.

I know, it takes few to ruin a good thing and looks like the few are causing the rules...

Odd how they need rules or they run amok, think they'd be better suited to move to a Socialistic country.

I know what you mean jorge but it goes both ways. I won't take a second look for clarification if the person has a history of lousy ideas. But if I know they have a mixed or good history of ideas I will reread to clarify my thoughts sometimes before voting. It is good in some cases and bad in others.

Thats bad jervis961, you should read the idea first, vote then look who posted it and who voted.

I read the idea but If it's one that I think is stupid I look at the poster's name and decide if I should demote or give it a second read due to the poster's history of making good ideas. If i still don't like it then I demote.

I must agree with jervis961... if you know someone's reputation, YOUR time is LIMITED, so you follow that leading first.
It might be nice to have supermultitasking ON at all times, but I'm afraid we haven't yet mastered time warps!
OTOH, jorge, I would agree that anyone should be given a 2nd chance... and more... but each of us only has so much time to spend... so much resource to commit. Anyway, I like to get to know the people I'm conversing with. Absolute anonymity stifles that.

I still say we can't allow ourselves to be RULEd by those who break the rules. What would be left of freedom and freedom of expression?
