ATI CableCard tuner on the XPS 410- WITHOUT Spending $2k

140 points posted to Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), XPS products by brandon_u 08/15/07

If I could buy the base XPS 410 and just add dual ATI CablCard tuners, I would buy it right now. HP offers a system with the new ATI CableCard tuner and an HDMI video card for $1,249 configured. Why can't Dell offer the 410 with the CableCard tuner without trying to make us buy all the other unnecessary junk that comes in the Blu-ray configuration. Come on, I have been waiting for this tuner for over a year now- please make it available at a competitive price!

I want to order:
The base xps 410 without a monitor or speakers and add the dual ATI TV Wonder Digital CableCard tuners. Thats all I ask. But you won't let me :(

The stupid thing about HP, is they don't let you configure with dual CableCard tuners. The only dual tuner option is for one analog and one digital. I'm not going to buy an HP beacuse I have had them in the past and they suck. And you cna't build it yourself becuase you have to have a Cable Labs certified BIOS to use CableCard (trust me I would have already done it). I wonder if Sony is paying Dell to "roll in" the blu-ray to make people use it, just like they did on the PS3. Hmmm
