Would it be possible for Dell to purchase Intel? Wouldn't that finish off HP?

Intel market cap = $ 145 Billion
Dell market cap = $ 64.8 Billion
Not quite sure who would finance the other 100 billion dollars.

If it's HP they're after, perhaps if Apple and Dell worked together on this those companies put together are worth about as much as Intel. :)

Now buying AMD ($8 Billion) seems more possible; but still probably nuts compared to keeping AMD and Intel around and playing them off of each other.

07/09/07		 Why eliminate HP? I'm a dedicated Dell customer, but I do see the need for a wide array of manufacturer's to drive the market through innovation. Don't put Dell in the position of becoming the Microsoft of their industry, or there will be no need for IdeaStorm or any other form of user input. If they're going to buy Intel, why stop there? Why not buy Microsoft as well?

07/10/07		 ok, i will tell you why. dell is not goingto buy intel and here is a good reason. Intel processors are simply slower than Amd which have been tested and so on. Dell buying Intel would be a big fall and trying to wipe Out hp you guys are going to regret trying to do that. Hp Would buy Amd they already use them for all the high end processing. Amd is a way better company when it comes to Powerful CPU's. No affense to Dell but it;s gonna be their lose. I recommend That dell stays were they are and it good that both companies are "fighting" cause it keeps the business flowing and keeps makes us customers look for what we want.
